Personally, I count National Championships as the first criteria and OU has won a few of those - 7 since 1950.

He strategically limited it to the past decade, since OU last won in 2000 (sorry about the Orange Bowl...don't hate!)

The strategy is odd considering that by almost any metric, OU has been wildly more successful than Utah even in the last decade.

As a graduate of the U of U S.J. Quinney College of Law I can comfortably state that the U of U law school is exceptional and rising. When they finish the new law building that will be easily seen from the Pac 12 venue, Rice Eccles Stadium, they will climb back into the top 20 law schools. GO UTES!!!

Apparently, Nebraska's membership in the AAU was a important factor. So I wonder if they are going to kick Nebraska out now given they are no longer a member.

SWC? Oklahoma was in the Big 8, which makes it that much weirder that they'd head to the Pac. I think it's all very silly and I'm pretty skeptical.

Historically, Utah's basketball program has considerably more accomplishment than Oklahoma's. Also, Utah's football has been more succcessful in the past decade. Re academics, it depends on what you're talking about. Utah's med and law schools are ranked a lot higher (med is 33 places higher).

So how about it, SU? You OK with the PAC-12 accepting the B1G's academic rejects?

I had no idea OU hoop compared so favorably to Utah. More recent Final Fours, almost twice as many Elite 8 appearances, etc. Pretty impressive. But that was decent reminder of how great Utah used to be 15 years ago -- they've spent so much time as a mid-bottom tier MWC team that you forgot how great they were at one point.

Don't you get it? You sound like the worst BYU student out there...trying to convince the world how wonderful your education is and how wonderful your school is.

Around the US, truth be told, most have no idea where BYU is. The University of Utah is synonymous with the Mormons-eat that pill, SU. And, undergrad is practically worthless to most people's career.

And, yet, you continue to rave about the University of Utah. Face the facts, BYU and the UofU will always be a middle of the road institution invaded by Mormons. This perception will never fade.

That being said, Billy Tubbs was the best. When the Gooners won the Big 8 title w/ Wayman Tisdale in AllenFieldhouse, Billy sent the boys back out to cut down the nets. That led to alot of trash raining down on the Dirt Burglars from the student section. Billy came out and flipped the crowd off and grabbed Little Billy in defiance. One of the great scenes from the old Big 8.

Stakes aren't really that high.

You know, if the stakes weren't so high for BYU, I would be enjoying this immensely. Talk about high drama.

KU/BYU/Yutes will be fine whatever the outcome. It's just that the Big 12 is soooo freaking fun. I cannot believe that this conference w/ the complete package is going the way of the passenger pigeon. I suppose what's tearing it apart is what makes it soooo fun. From 'ITS THE BIG TWELVE' to the 40 year old man to the Players Fat Little Girlfriends, it's been a great ride. However, nothing that parks KSuck's purple doublewide in UT's million dollar neighborhood could ever last. Would've been nice to add the Mormons/Baptists to the mix.
