Oh well, we play the Utes this week. Aggies appear in position to give us a game and TCU rebounded. There are some things to look forward to. I hope we get defending a mobile QB solved before we play Hawaii.
Interestingly enough BYU hasn't even made an effort to announce anything with regards to scheduling, even when it was a "done deal."

We've heard about almost everything from media leaks or the other team's Web site. I have no idea why Holmoe and co. are taking that approach. Doesn't make much sense to me.

My guess is revenue sharing since they can't do anything to the LHN. It also may be as Ted said and they are trying to get this TAMU situation resolved more quickly.

With Oklahoma's record against Nebraska of 45-38-3, I'd say they are historically pretty evenly matched, and much more evenly matched than they would be against either Utah or Colorado.

FALSE. Nebraska left in response to the instability of the Big 12. Each day that goes by they look smarter and smarter for it.

I stand by my assertion that they created the instability. If they didn't want Texas to run the conference they shouldn't have gone on a hiatus from winning.

Didn't Chip say last week that Texas had already agreed to revenue sharing? Or are you saying they possibly want revenue from the LHN network as well?

The way I understand it, when a commitment to the conference was requested from all, Nebraska was willing to do so if it was unanimous, but Texas was unwilling to abandon exploring their options, including the PAC. At that point, Nebraska decided to take care of themselves. I haven't been around here long. But I gather there are many here who are much more plugged in than I am that might be able to refute this with inside information. But this is what I understood after reading what was reported.

I think being in the B1G is better for Nebraska long term, but I really wish they were still in the Big 12. I'm a traditionalist.

                      • Maybe the pull for Oklahoma is that the pac-12 will start up a Oklahoma regional network, saving the school the trouble/expense of doing it on their own

No way is it about revenue from the LHN unless Texas thinks they'd be able to broadcast Texas high school football by sharing a bit (not worth it and doesn't make sense). I'm saying that the fact that Chip Brown and no one directly associated with OU is saying anything like this is interesting. I heard about the revenue sharing from Chip but much like anything in this, I think it's conjecture and not necessarily the truth.

                          • Oklahoma holds the keys to the destruction of ~80 football/athletic programs and they are going to push the button for 2-3 million a year and a chance to show Texas they are a big boy now.

Texas was getting their way in the Big 12 back when Nebraska was still winning national championships. It goes back to the formation of the Big 12 when Nebraska thought the Big 8 was adding four SWC teams and Texas declared it a new conference open for business and rule modifications.

Nebraska leaving the Big 12 made the conference more instable but it wasn't the orgin of the instability. Colorado was out the door for the PAC-10 and everyone knew it. The Big Ten was expanding and Missouri was publically lobbying for inclusion. Notre Dame was most likely staying independent. Texas wouldn't commit to a Big 12 without Colorado and Missouri. So Nebraska had a choice between the Big Ten and MWC with Kansas, KSU, and Iowa St. As hard as it was to discard long term rival Kansas, it wasn't that difficult of a choice to make.

                              • I think its pretty clear that Missouri is the one that will be responsible ultimately for the death of the Big 12 conference if this current instability leads to its demise.

If Missouri hadn't begged the Big 10 to take them last year and just Colorado leaving the Big 12 would've replaced Colo and it wouldn't have been a blip in the radar as far as moving forward with stability.
