If some kind of face-saving concession is thrown their way they might be able to stay. But I'm not sure what that would be, or why the rest of the Big 12 would offer it.

Why would OU waive their rights vs. aTm? Maintain your rights, keep the money from the lawsuit, and then quietly sneak over to the PacXX due to the fact that the Big 12 is no longer. Keep the money and move where you want.

I would think that in a 10 member conference, the first one to bolt is the subject of all the lawsuits. After that, the conference no longer exists and everyone can move with impunity.

To maintain this precarious balance and avoid lawsuits, the Big 12 can admit no new members. If they admit BYU, aTm can leave.

Do we know this? I understood if the conference drops to 9 members they lose their TV contract, but does the conference disband? I didn't know that was the case.

Moreover, getting the money from the lawsuit is not exactly a two or three week proposition. Unlike lawsuits on TV (Man I hate legal shows on TV) real lawsuits of this type take years to conclude, at best.

Why would OU re-commit and agree to have less revenue in the revenue sharing plan than they already enjoy? Unless I am reading those comments wrong, they aren't very clear.
