If I understand the status of things:

1.) Everyone in the Big-12 wants it to remain together. Texas because they get to rule the roost, OU because their only other option is hanging out with west coast pussies and everyone else because other than KU hoops none of them are wanted by anyone.

2.) OU likely wants the Big-12 to remain together but they are seeking concessions from Texas. Thus this facade of wanting to go to the Pac-16. I have no idea what concessions means, but I am convinced someway and somehow it has to do with money.

3.) OSU does nothing but walk around holding onto OU's beltloop. But they are 40 and a man and the father of....children.

4.) BYU and potentially one or two others are poised to join as soon as the dust settles.

5.) Viking knows people who know people at all of the institutions in question, but he still never got laid until he was 24?

So am I correct in assuming that this will end if/when the battle for Texas to makes concessions comes to an end with Texas either giving OU what it wants or OU having to either shit, wrt leaving for Pac which offer might or might not exist, or get off the pot. Is Texas likely to give anything up? Is OU that gung ho to force Texas to give something up that it would join the Pac?

6) OU ultimately decides not to pursue any interest shown by the SEC because they've heard rumors about rampant 'cornholing' at SEC tailgates, and don't even want to know what that means.

I don't know, but I don't know why that is relevant. We were discussing cheap Mormons not buying tickets. The Utah game is priced at about $85 face value, which, as I stated, is likely the reason the game is not sold out.

Why would OU waive their rights vs. aTm? Maintain your rights, keep the money from the lawsuit, and then quietly sneak over to the PacXX due to the fact that the Big 12 is no longer. Keep the money and move where you want.

I would think that in a 10 member conference, the first one to bolt is the subject of all the lawsuits. After that, the conference no longer exists and everyone can move with impunity.

To maintain this precarious balance and avoid lawsuits, the Big 12 can admit no new members. If they admit BYU, aTm can leave.

Funny you posted this. I had heard from my peep this morning that in the end this was about 1st tier rights and making sure the windfall coming to the conference in 2014 was equal share. I wrote up a post on my phone and thought I had posted it, but after looking I hadn't.

Anyway, point is, I have reason to believe this.

Here's how this is going to go at this point (now that a&m has assured no PAC16):

1. An all-nighter negotiation will take place
2. OU will get a network
3. A&M will get a network, to be watched by no one
4. BYU will be invited officially, tomorrow. Presser conveniently live from Royal Mem stadium on Friday
5. Some other school, god knows who, will be invited
6. BYUtv will offer to co-broadcast OU and A&M games, using its vastly superior home penetration (ha!)

Thus endeth this drama.

Equal rev share I can understand. If the SEC does it, everyone else eventually will have to fall in line.

But OU and aTm games being broadcast on BYUtv? lol. come on, viking. That dog does NOT hunt.
