So the phrase "oral is moral" is not allowed on Baylor's campus?

      • BYU to the SEC as the 14th team? He doesn't quite come out and say it, but you can read between the lines

lol good riddance. They should move the whole campus to Mississippi. It would fit right in.

I agree, what with all the humidity produced by Utah Lake.

Um, no. Sorry, but World > Mississippi. Now if he were talking about moving the campus to Texas, then you'd be right.

Yep, there is plenty of room out in west Texas for the campus.

                  • Chip Brown finally gives a little information about what the heck is going on...

Working on a realignment follow up. This has been like pulling rusty nails out of a board. Apologize for the delay. A&M is inching closer to announcing its intention to apply for membership to the SEC.

Trying to determine exactly where the SEC presidents' vote is right now. They need 9 votes and Georgia and Vanderbilt have given indications they are not crazy about expansion right now.

A&M sources say things are still progressing nicely and that A&M president Bowen Loftin has been doing conference calls with small numbers of SEC presidents to give them a better idea of who and what A&M is all about.

Wouldn't be shocked if A&M tries to announce its application to the SEC on Friday, when UT is launching the Longhorn Network. I don't have any information to indicate that, but A&M is getting closer to announcing their application - I've heard they want to do it by Sept. 1.

                    Stay tuned.

                    • ND head coach Brian Kelly discusses the possibility of joining a conference...

When Brian Kelly left Cincinnati for South Bend, part of the draw for Notre Dame was the program's independent status. The national base on which Notre Dame can recruit was important for Kelly, as well as the lack of a conference championship. For the latter, that means the sole focus of his team is on a BCS bowl, not a trophy to be awarded in late November or early December.

But the second-year Irish coach, simply out of necessity, wouldn't dismiss the notion Notre Dame could ditch its independent status and join a major conference in the future.

"You can't rule out anything with college football" said Kelly on "The Dan Patrick Show" Wednesday. "We have to be prepared for anything."

Kelly hinted if college football continues to move toward the 16-team superconference, Notre Dame may have no choice but to join up with a BCS conference.

                      [...]

"It's only going to continue to go in this route," said Kelly. "As networks pop up and things change, I think you gotta be aware of those things."

But the SEC is likely to add A&M and only a 14th team, avoiding further expansion to become a 16-team superconference -- for now. Until one of those superconferences is formed, expect Notre Dame to stay independent.
BYU may have no choice as well.

                        Ole Miss, 1830

Hey, at least you've got the Mississippi schools beat.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Without BYU denies, Utah would go from Mississippi range down to Cal State Bakersfield range.
