Weren't OU and Texas complaining about having to play each other to get to the championship? Why not split them up?
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

It will never happen again. They changed the formula to preclude it.

I thought they were complaining that they would potentially have to play each other twice because they play each other each year in the red river game.

NAFAIK. In the beginning, OU and Oklahoma State did complain about being split from the other Big 8 teams and essentially relegated to what was left of the SWC. After OU began to dominate the conference you didn't hear it anymore.

We are talking about a bunch of testosterone filled men jumping on each other, blankets, fists, sweating, tackling, etc. Why would UteStar care about that?

ESPN didn't cause Kevin Durant and the guy from Counting Crows to tweet about Jimmer. I just don't think ad-libbing Sportscenter anchors had a memo to pimp Jimmer because ESPN was going to show a few of BYU's football games in the Fall.
And how did we learn about those tweets? They were all over sportscenter.

I don't think anyone can really know the answer to this, and I'm not saying I really know, either, but you have to consider that Jimmermania was created by ESPN, and BYU had just become an exclusive ESPN broadcast partner.

That goes away if BYU joins the Big 12.

Why would I have to "consider that Jimmermania was created by ESPN"? I thought you were just showed examples of how that wasn't the case?

Your concern with BYU's future as it relates to ESPN is unfounded and I really thought the others did a very good job of helping you to allay those fears but I guess not.

Almost certain the Big 12 CCG will be held in Cowboys stadium every year. Although it hasn't been made official. There's no longer a rotation between North and South...which occurred before there was no longer North and South divisions. Just another in the list of Nebraska grievances against the Big 12 Texas...or as they say in Austin: "just another thing those Aggie Husker cry babies whine about - glad they are gone".

Edit: Forgot there is no longer a Big 12 CCG with 10 9 teams.

No clue but given he's BYU's feature columnist on Bleacher Report I am not buying a word he says.

                          • Though I'd be very happy if BYU goes to the B12, BYU and Utah should really be in the same conference. Damn the P12! Would Ute fans prefer both teams in the same conference? Would you want to leave the P12 if it meant you joined a stable B12 with BYU?

                              • The joint partnership between TAMU and UT on a shared network wasn't a rumor...

This entire Texas A&M-to-SEC situation might well have been avoided if Texas and A&M had been able to reach an agreement on a proposal three or four years ago that would have created a joint television network that would have broadcast the two flagship schools' Olympic sports like volleyball, women's basketball, track and field, and swimming and diving but only within the state's boundaries. Was to be called the Flagship Network. "It never went very far," A&M athletic director Bill Byrne said Sunday after returning from France where the Aggie men's basketball team was touring with exhibition games. "We had a real interest in it, but they had other interests."
