Weren't OU and Texas complaining about having to play each other to get to the championship? Why not split them up?At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I thought they were complaining that they would potentially have to play each other twice because they play each other each year in the red river game.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostWeren't OU and Texas complaining about having to play each other to get to the championship? NAFAIK. In the beginning, OU and Oklahoma State did complain about being split from the other Big 8 teams and essentially relegated to what was left of the SWC. After OU began to dominate the conference you didn't hear it anymore.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostWeren't OU and Texas complaining about having to play each other to get to the championship?

We are talking about a bunch of testosterone filled men jumping on each other, blankets, fists, sweating, tackling, etc. Why would UteStar care about that?Originally posted by SoCalCoug View PostThere's room for one more - I'm talking about you, UteStar!

And how did we learn about those tweets? They were all over sportscenter.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostJimmermania started because he was routinely hitting bombs from 10 feet behind the three point line, crossing over supposed future NBA guys like Kawhi Leonard, and dropping something like 36 points in a half against New Mexico and Utah.
ESPN didn't cause Kevin Durant and the guy from Counting Crows to tweet about Jimmer. I just don't think ad-libbing Sportscenter anchors had a memo to pimp Jimmer because ESPN was going to show a few of BYU's football games in the Fall.
I don't think anyone can really know the answer to this, and I'm not saying I really know, either, but you have to consider that Jimmermania was created by ESPN, and BYU had just become an exclusive ESPN broadcast partner.
That goes away if BYU joins the Big 12.If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

Why would I have to "consider that Jimmermania was created by ESPN"? I thought you were just showed examples of how that wasn't the case?

Though I'd be very happy if BYU goes to the B12, BYU and Utah should really be in the same conference. Damn the P12! Would Ute fans prefer both teams in the same conference? Would you want to leave the P12 if it meant you joined a stable B12 with BYU?

The joint partnership between TAMU and UT on a shared network wasn't a rumor...
This entire Texas A&M-to-SEC situation might well have been avoided if Texas and A&M had been able to reach an agreement on a proposal three or four years ago that would have created a joint television network that would have broadcast the two flagship schools' Olympic sports like volleyball, women's basketball, track and field, and swimming and diving but only within the state's boundaries. Was to be called the Flagship Network. "It never went very far," A&M athletic director Bill Byrne said Sunday after returning from France where the Aggie men's basketball team was touring with exhibition games.
