All my comments are meant to help. Like LA, I very much want BYU to get into a big conference. Opposition in all things. I have no doubt Utah would not be where it is but for the competitive energy and even intellectual property that BYU generated or provided. A rising tide raises all ships.

The fact is, there is a perception that the LDS faith is a cult. Given that perception, and considering that your original post was about perception of others, I think the comment was fair. I also think it will be a small matter. The Big XII is more open minded and rational than Cal or Stanford.

Hmm... I guess the big 12 does put up with Baylor (and things like the Baptists ban on Disney) and UT (which SU admits is as liberal as Cal) in the same conference.
