  • Ok. B12 has a brand new commissioner and he needs to immediately pounce. The P12 will surely try and shore up it's league by trying to grab some B12 teams.

I'm a bid scared for BYU right now, honestly. Best case scenario would be B12 roping in the Arizona schools and Utah Colorado.

    That would be just fine

What are you talking about? BYU has never been in a better spot. B12 and P12 don't want anything to do with either of the AZ schools, or Colorado.

I mean, if the P12 is able to raid the B12, that would be quite bad for BYU.

Fingers crossed either nothing happens, the B12 poaches the P12. Oh, and Utah crawling back to the mwc would be fun.

Utah isn't crawling back anywhere. Don't let your goggles fool you. They are Top 4 of that conference now going forward. You are better than that.

BYU is more attractive now than they ever have been Tide is rising.

Lol. Obviously Utah won't be crawling back to the mwc. It would just be fun to see.

            • Stanford has to be attractive to the B10 also. Academics plus an outstanding overall athletic program.

I couldn't figure out what LiveCoug was talking about either, but I guess this broke today:

                https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nca...ten/ar-AAZ30pO

USC and UCLA planning to join the Big Ten

The move was first reported by long-time PAC-12 reporter Jon Wilner, who shared the news on social media Thursday afternoon...

Ross Dellenger, who covers college sports for Sports Illustrated, confirmed the reporting minutes later:

                • So far, the chatter from the experts (Wilner included) is that some P12 schools would likely move to the B12, not the other way around.

Oh. I guess I should have mentioned that in my post. Kind of an important detail. I just saw that it was brought up in the P12 thread

Don't look at it from a solely a football performance perspective. What does Utah REALLY offer a conference apart from very good recent football performance? They don't bring the TV value and their non-football sports are all trash unless you are a big NCAA skiing or gymnastics fan. Granted they might be one of the most attractive candidates that the Big 12 would potentially be able to get, but that speaks more to the how awful the Pac value is after USC/UCLA than the attractiveness of Utah.

I do agree that the Big 12 should be aggressive. Grant of rights runs out in 2024, same as Pac 12 correct? They need to get another long term grant in place for everyone not named Oklahoma and Texas before any Pac jumpers make a decision.

Their Football and Gymnastics, along with their softball team would be very attractive and fit right in the with B12. Love to have them back again.

Yes. To be clear I'm not wearing blue goggles. I know no one in the current Pac 12 WANTS to come to the Big 12. But I think if the Big 12 fortifies now before the biggest Pac fish jump, many (including potentially Utah) will be left with no other options.

Edit: I think it's more likely USC/UCLA use this to extract uneven revenue sharing (which would probably also have to be granted to Oregon) than they actually go to the Big 10 at this point. But if the Pac does lose UCLA/USC they would be extremely vulnerable. And if the Big 10 go all in and get Oregon/Washington, the Pac is dead.

I agree. But the P12 is no longer the P12 after tonight. They are a solid #5 on that list.

Lol. Welp, probably 50/50 shot on who eats who between the Pac 10 and Big 12 right now.
