I thought you said you graduated from UT. On any road trip in Texas buc-ee's is a mandatory stop.

          • Buccees is awesome. Its like a gas station/walmart/grocery store rolled into one, and then glammed up (glammed up according to the South).

            • So, Buccees is a gas station but should be the official beef jerky of the Big 12?
              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Everyone that visits us in Houston gets to visit a buc-ees and I’ve never had one person go away disappointed. The jerky. The fudge. The chopped brisket sandwiches. The beaver nuggets. And the bathrooms. Yes, the bathrooms. It’s an amazing place.

                      OK, now I am intrigued.

Yeah, I feel sorry for those that don't get to experience Buc-ees.

                        • When we went to Waco for the Baylor game last year, part of our group insisted on making a trek to the nearest Buc-ees, which was like 45 minutes away. I passed on it, probably to have the opportunity to see the 37th Magnolia-related site of the trip (have I mentioned that we could see their house from our Airbnb?).

I still look forward to my first Buc-ees visit. I hope it doesn't underwhelm me as much as my first Wawa's visit.

Whoa, wait. You lived in Texas and never visited buc-ees?

They are all located outside metropolitan areas since they are more like a truck stop but without the trucks. The food is very good and the bathrooms are cleaner than the bathrooms in my house. We stopped at one outside of Dallas when our stake took four bus loads of kids to nauvoo (200 people) and we were in and out like it was nothing. It can swallow a thousand people and you’d barely notice. Oh, and they are always busy. I hit one in Florida at 8am Sunday morning and it was hopping like crazy.

Buc-ees is one gas stop I don't mine spending a little time at. If they install chargers then I might actually consider getting an electric car, especially with the freak'n gas prices these days... and this:

I honestly don't remember seeing one. I was in Texas from 86-91, and it looks like Buc-ees. started in 1982, so I am guessing it took them a while to grow the company.

Either that or may fading memory again.
