West Virginia rag with radical idea: let Texas and Oklahoma call the shots when it comes to b12 expansion!

So here’s my solution, my suggestion to end all of the above discourse.
The Big 12 schools should just cut to the chase. Eight schools should approach Texas and Oklahoma, the conference’s bell cows. And those eight should simply lay the decision at the feet of those two schools. Do you want to expand? If so, the league will expand. Would you rather stay at 10 and tell the SEC and others to kiss off? That can happen as well.Allow Texas and OU to be in charge, to make the decision, to own the decision. Make them happy. And move on.

Freshman undergrad in Kansas feels strongly that B12 expansion could help

Let’s be real here, nobody likes a wipeout in college football. Fans live, breathe and die competitive football.
The Big 12 is already competitive, but the conference could always bring in schools that can compete consistently within the conference and the national stage.
If the conference brought in two programs that have quality athletic programs, it would allow for an unpredictable season for each year, making the anticipation and excitement greater than ever before.

I think for the Big 12 a good solution would be BYU and Boise State for football only and then add Cincy and UCF for everything. I'm not saying this is ideal for BYU, but it might be the most realistic way BYU gets in. 14 teams in football isn't too difficult with 7 per division and a championship game. 14 for other sports would be harder to administer, so they can have 12 for that.

I'm getting a better understanding on why West Virginia didn't land in the ACC. And I'm wondering if Texas and Oklahoma are having regrets about picking West Virginia.

I can't imagine Nebraska would return so quickly after leaving just a few years ago.

Iowa St wants big 12 expansion so they can get to a bowl game easier
They all do it. Never say never, however, Iowa State fans anxious to party at another bowl game had better hope the Big 12’s door is so far ajar that at least two schools can easily pass through it.

They better hope for something that results in no more round-robin scheduling.

It’s the best way for Cyclones football to meet that six-victory stipulation the NCAA mandates for bowl consideration.

Iowa State — and Kansas, too — simply can’t hang with the conference toughies the way it is now.

Holy cow that's a pretty cynical view, lambdacoug. Commenter Leroy Brown has given you no reason to doubt him. Looks like it's BYU and Nebraska. End of story.

That would require a school to join a P5 conference and, after several seasons, amass an overall losing record in conference play. Lol, how likely is that???
