I am fine with Independence. I have never been BIG 12 fanatic. I will say that this time the rumors and sources feel different. I am not saying that I think we are in but my sixth sense is saying that there is a legit legs with this thing and I am thinking we are in. Vote Pending.

If the college football landscape remains the same (which never happens but it's just as likely it will get worse than get better--in terms of importance of being P5), not being in P5 will be slow death over next 20-30 years. Landing with Big 12 now is a miracle on par with the sea gulls eating the crickets or the tithing rain in St. George.

Now I'm actually starting to feel a little bad for this WV dude. He seems like he really believes what he's saying. Sure, he could very well be totally wrong, but I think he's getting some some really crappy treatment from some pathologically pessimistic BYU fans who are letting him have it. I'm sure it's a minority of our wacko internet fanbase who are doing it, but in general it makes us look bad.

Commissioner Bowlsby just said a few hours ago that he is recommending expansion to the board. Granted, the presidents may not follow his advice, but this seems like a big deal.

It is being reported (on CB and I saw it elsewhere but can't find that link now) that he actually said he will recommend a "slight" expansion, whatever that means.
