I like a 10 team playoff. That allows for all 6 major conferences (BE, SEC, B-12, B-10, ACC and PAC) to each send their conference champion who all get a bye to the 2nd round. The 4 at large teams play in round 1 with the 2 winners joining the conference champs in the round of 8.

All conferences will have a conference championship playoff game to provide their champ. ACC is not going to self destruct and BYU will be in the Big-12 for the 2014 season. I have been saying pretty much the same stuff all along, except when I didn't! All conferene championships are the 1st week in December. 1st round playoff games the 3rd week in December and 2nd round the last week in December. 3rd round is the first week in January and then take two weeks off until the championship game. Go back to an 11 game regular season. With this the champs and runner ups would play 15 or 16 games.

I don't think they are entertaining the notion of limiting it to 4 specific conferences. The proposal includes "conference champions," which is vague enough to also technically offer access to ANY conference champion. In practicum, we all know that the WAC conference champ likely won't be ranked high enough, but technically access is there. It really isn't much different than the current regime.

BCS lawsuits are more bluster than reality, at least imo.

I respectfully disagree. An 11-1 Notre Dame team will be the first team the network(s)/Play-off bowls lobby the selection committee to include even if there are four other 11-1 teams ranked higher than the Irish.

And no one is going to "freeze" Notre Dame out. It works the other way, programs beg Notre Dame to schedule them. USC, Stanford, Michigan, Michigan St., and Purdue have enough clout in the PAC-12/Big Ten to not be strongarmed into dropping Notre Dame from their schedule. And then there's Navy and Boston College. BYU would love to permanently add Notre Dame. In short, nobody is going to "freeze out" Notre Dame from their schedule.

Well it is just a couple of differing opinions. I know if we got into the BIG12 I wouldn't give a crap rather we played them or not.

Let's see, Oklahoma, Texas or ND. Not even close, ND is out. If we basically had no shot at the BIG12 championship year after year, then yea I would schedule them if we could. If we were a team that could be in contention year after year, I wouldn't.

My kids are still a bit shocked when I tell them how good ND was. My grandkids have never heard of ND.

            • The Dude of WV has news that will make everyone really made!

Tomorrow I have an update that will make some of you angry and I'll ask for a little help from my friends.
Hint: it's about FSU and Clemson.
Somebody in the B12 is blocking Clemson thinking ND joins in all sports. May cause FSU to say no.

The Big 12 needs to give ND an ultimatum. A July 1st deadline for joining the conference or not. Then move on...

Does anyone remember just after 9/11 WVU played at Wisconsin and the Badgers didn't want that guy to bring his gun as part of his costume, I think that the 2nd amendment lovers in West Virginia would welcome a group of fans like BYU.

I remember back in my high school days, those calf-high moccasin-style leather shoes were the exclusive domain of heavy metal rocker chicks. Basically, if a girl was sporting some of that footwear, you knew two things: one, she smoked. two, she could often be found exiting the boys bathroom with her lamb's wool-lined Levi jacket wearing hessian boyfriend. I wish I could go back to high school armed with all the of practical knowledge I now possess.
