I am not sure if I trust this data... BYU > OU in Dallas?!? Of course, I could maybe see BYU > TCU given the frogs most likely have more stadium seats than actual alumni in living in DFW.

A year ago, I thought independence made more sense. Today, the future for independents looks bleak. I'm surprised more people aren't making the very argument Mr. SEC makes: the BCS playoff proposal seems calibrated by Delany (the biggest villain in college football) to force Notre Dame's hand into joining a conference. If it works, life as an independent will be a very lonely place.

It might not work this year, but given 5 years, maybe even 3 years, and I'd say it is at least 40/60. BYU should get on board with a major conference asap.

BYU seems to be focusing on media coverage. That's clearly step two in all of this. Step 1: consolidate conferences and power. Step 2: rule the airwaves. You'll see the major conferences all with their own networks and total exposure for all games for all teams in those conferences within 5 years. As things stand now, I think BYU's best bet for long term exposure is to join the Big 12.

TV deal for the Big 12 has been verbally agreed to along with a 13 year grant of rights.

Big 12 is super unstable. Stay away, BYU!

The first order of business for Bowlsby is possible expansion. While there are few candidates available that would be worth $20 million annually to the contract, it is known that Louisville is interested in joining the league.

Sometimes, it's worth a little money to bring in a team that will go 7-20 in basketball and football combined so the other conference doormats finally have a chance to win a few.

Who knows? Probably not him. Could be, though. Doesn't seem to make much sense to go west if ACC big boys want to bolt.

Here come the torches but a 14 or 16 team ex-BYU in the B12 puts pressure on the PAC or B10 to expand. Crazier things have happened.
