Or.....The WCC didn't like the unbalanced travel schedule and wanted to even it up again. 9 teams is good for football scheduling, bad for basketball scheduling. Even #'s work much better. According to Greg Swaim of Big Time Sports it looks like we're leaving the WCC, B12 or not. I hope Powercat fans don't get the impression that we're just afraid of them because I think other reasons are at play here.

What an idiot. If we don't go to the B12, there are no other options for our Olympic sports. The BE may still be interested, but they were always after BYU as a FB only member. We're not rejoining the MWCCUSA. We're not moving to the Wac. What other options are there? Big Sky . . . If any of the rumblings from last year's expansion headache are to be believed, I think the most believable is that the admins at BYU were concerned about pissing off the schools and associated religions of the WCC. I could believe that BYU told the WCC that they would find a replacement before they left, to ease scheduling and TV contract concerns. How is a 10 team conference a more even schedule for basketball? Why is an 18 conference schedule better than a 16 game schedule?
