I'm interested to see how this transition works. What will you do with your BYU gear? Are you going to start hating BYU or just loving the Utes more? You should start a thread documenting the process of team transition. Like those shows documenting gender transformation.Originally posted by KillerDog View PostK-dog

I have to say, I have been a BYU football fan since I moved to Utah County 8 years ago! (nothing compared to some of you die hards) but It's been great! I will always love the cougars but I am starting to warm up to cheering for the Ute's too.
I can't believe I said that, but this BIGXII thing has really put me off.

It's a sad day when a bottom feeder PAC team is a better option than BYU. I might just start rooting for Oregon State.Originally posted by KillerDog View PostK-dog

I'm numbing slowly, and might focus more on the NFL, but that's a transition I don't think I could fully commit too... even with my little bro going there to play. You pansies are making me sick. Man up! So what, maybe we don't end up in the Big 12. I would hate that, too. But I'm not going to run away like a little girl and cheer for Utah or stop cheering for BYU.Originally posted by JetBlackPanda View PostI have to say, I have been a BYU football fan since I moved to Utah County 8 years ago! I will always cheer for BYU! but it seems like rooting for the other local school doesn't seem so bad anymore either.Originally posted by Marvelous View PostYou pansies are making me sick. Man up! If the school had an invite and lost it through either inept leadership or rejecting it, then that is it for a lot of BYU football fans. In such a situation, the school would have proven it is not committed to the athletes or the fans. You can hardly fault us for not being committed to a school that doesn't commit to success *on* and off the field.Originally posted by Marvelous View PostYou pansies are making me sick. Man up! Neinas says Big 12 set for 10 teams in 2012
Interim Big 12 Commissioner Chuck Neinas said Tuesday that the league is set with 10 teams for 2012 with the addition of TCU, even though Missouri is exploring a possible departure to the Southeastern Conference.
"If Missouri was going to change horses, it wouldn't be for 2012 anyway," Neinas said.
The Big 12 has given no deadline for a decision from Missouri, though Neinas said there would need to be some determination by the end of the current academic year. The school has not ruled out remaining part of the Big 12.
Neinas said the Big 12 needs to know what Missouri plans to do before the league can fully evaluate whether to stay at 10 members or expand back to 12.
"We can't address the 10 vs. 12 until we determine that Missouri is going to be one of the 10," he said. "There's no consensus at the present time between the conference members as to 10 or 12."
TCU just sent me an email stating they still have season tickets left and is wondering if I want some.

Hey man, I've been in enough fights and brawls in the name of BYU that I'd never quit cheering for them, but I think I may be too emotionally attached. This Big 12 stuff really shouldn't get to me like it has. When my Dad took me to games as a toddler to watch McMahon, Young, and Bosco while he was coaching Rugby there... I didn't care what Conference they were in, I just loved watching the Blue and White, being in the stadium, and eating expensive hotdogs on dry buns.Originally posted by Marvelous View PostYou pansies are making me sick. So focusing more on the NFL is more of a way to distract myself from this rollercoaster of emotions that this BIG 12 crap has put me through. And I'm being honest, when my brother told me he was going to play for the Utes I told him I'd only wear a black jersey if he got me one... I can't do the Crimson (though I'm fine wearing Tonga Red).
