Who is going to watch these regional networks?Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostThe regional networks won't be a big deal revenue wise as there won't be any football or men's basketball played on them. When there is football and Men's bball to be played it will be on the conference network.
I assume sat and cable providers will package up all these regional channels with the conference network and make folks pay $10/mo or more to add the package. I only care to watch a couple teams in the Pac-12. This is the biggest gripe I have with sat and cable providers. I pay a bunch of money per month for a 100+ channels of pure crap so I can watch the teams/sports I want to watch on a handful of channels. I can't wait for the day when all the sports I want to watch is available via streaming, even if I have to pay-per-view, then I can get rid of sat/cable for good and save a ton of money.
As a side note, the high school district that we are in here in Texas offers a lot of the games played on Friday night via the internet (pay-per-view) now. Our extended family watches games that our son plays in from pretty much anywhere for a price that is about the same of as a ticket. I am curious how much revenue this is generating for the schools."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

This isn't about Big XII expansion, but it's probably the best expansion report out there right now:

It's not fair to compare any fans road support to Nebraska, whose fans travel better than anyone. But I understand what you mean that they can't be replaced. Beebe losing Nebraska is sealed his fate. I know their product on the field has been somewhat mediocre for almost a decade, but you can't replace the brand and fan support with any of the available options out there.Originally posted by Jacob View PostThis is part of the reason BYU is not a good replacement for Nebraska or A&M...just better than the other options :
Nebraska fans have purchased 30k tickets for their game in Madison this weekend.

From what I have seen, Nebraska fans are the best in the country when it comes to traveling to away games. I don't think there is any school that is even close, and that would include Notre Dame with all its bandwagon fans in every outpost across the map. They always find a way to inundate opposing venues with that sea of red. It is quite impressive.Originally posted by Jacob View PostThis is part of the reason BYU is not a good replacement for Nebraska or A&M...just better than the other options :

Unfortunately at Wisconsin the visual won't be quite as striking. But the noise will be there and it will be unlike anything Wisconsin fans have experienced from a visiting team at Camp Randall.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostFrom what I have seen, Nebraska fans are the best in the country when it comes to traveling to away games. there was an article posted today, showing Nebraska in the top 15 of college football revenue. They were 3rd in the Big XII behind UT and OU.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostIt's not fair to compare any fans road support to Nebraska, whose fans travel better than anyone.
