Worse than that, it is a bleacher report. Holy sheesh.

That Forbes report apparently comes from Bleacher Report, which is listed as a "Contributor." So...

When did DSOB switch to a new, less-Quinn Gooch-like format? I used to like reading that site.

          • Mizzou's hangup comes down to this... LHN showing HS highlights:

After getting clearance from the NCAA in August, the Longhorn Network is pushing forward with its desire to show highlights, scores or statistics from high school football games. Last Thursday it showed a YouTube clip of a New Jersey game, for its first foray into that controversial field. The LHN has yet to show scores or stats.

Dave Brown, LHN vice president for programming and acquisitions, has made a pitch to four Texas television affiliates in Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston, offering to trade two-minute, LHN-produced clips in exchange for the station's high school football game highlights. LHN sent out a clip of Longhorns quarterback Garrett Gilbert as a leader, after he was benched. ESPN said Houston station KTRK agreed, but San Antonio's KSAT turned down the LHN offer.

"We were really insulted that (the Longhorn Network might think) we'd just roll over for them," a producer at KSAT told me Sunday, adding that his station usually shoots footage of 17 to 21 high school games on Friday nights. "Now if it had been ‘Hard Knocks' material, that'd have been different. Once we looked at it, we said thanks, but no thanks."
Gary Pinkel, Mizzou's HC, has a problem with that...

Each refused to say MU was committed to a proposal discussed by league chancellors and presidents to implement a six-year agreement for equal sharing of first- and second-tier TV revenues and to sign those rights over to the Big 12.

Schools can keep all revenue generated by their own, or third-tier, media-rights contracts. But a bigger concern is the perceived recruiting advantage that Texas could gain from the Longhorn Network showing high school football highlights.

“That third-level TV deal (the Longhorn Network),” another source told The Star on Monday, “is a deal-breaker for Gary.”

It has been a couple of years now. It did just recently become a rivals site.

                • There will be few UT tears shed if Mizzou goes away.

Mizzou's drama is not going to prevent BYU from getting involved. Mizzou leaving does not represent instability to the B12.

That's lame. I don't want to pay for stuff.

I think we both know that Texas and ND are ahead of Mizzou for the Big Ten.

I am guessing Texas will call their bluff, if this is the case, and agree to not show HS highlights on the LHN if they agree to sign the six year assignment of 3rd tier rights.

Texas will let them walk. Mizzou steals our recruits out of Big D.

                        • I mosied over to the Cougarboard just because I'm totally obsessed with the realignment and apparently there's a big controversy over a deleted post. I suggest we offer a forum--a safehouse--for these victims of Steve's dominion. Oh wait, that's what this entire board is.

                          Thank you, CUF.

Hey Gaffords, don't let any Horn fans go over there...it's toxic...and embarrassing to the rest of us.
