people's beliefs are not debatable. they are what they are. respect that
To this I completely and wholeheartedly disagree, always have, always will (even while still a mormon, just like every other missionary loving mormon). If what you say is true then all missionary efforts of all churches everywhere should cease and people should just respect people's beliefs as they are since they aren't debatable.
Anyway, all I ever mentioned is that I can't generally stand reading the DesNews, not why. I wasn't the one to inject religion into this.

TCU has scheduled a presser at 6pm. I wonder what they are going to announce.

Does anyone think the Big East has a chance at preventing more defections? I think they have a shot at keeping Louisville because they want to stay anyway for Basketball reasons. If they can salvage a halfway respectable football conference, they might stay. My gut says WV is gone.
The Big East will look to double in size on the football side -- from six schools after Pittsburgh and Syracuse leave for the ACC to 12 -- according to a statement released by the league following a conference call today of Big East presidents and chancellors.
According to the statement, commissioner John Marinatto has been authorized "to engage in formal discussions with additional institutions and (we) are considering a model that includes 12 football-playing schools."
One way to achieve that, without stretching the basketball side beyond 16 schools, would be to add Air Force, Boise State and Navy for football only. Air Force has publicly acknowledged its interest in the Big East while Boise, as reported by The Star-Ledger last night, has been discussed by league officials. Navy has also shown an interest in joining for football only.
Let the land grab begin.

Unlikely, Big 12 makes a lot more sense for TCU, reignites old SWC rivalries.
Though, if TCU doesn't turn it down, the Big East has life.

And they certainly can't be thinking that the Big East is more stable.

Meanwhile, the B12 is still toying with a 10 team conference. What am I missing here? Why is the B12 moving so slowly on this?
Because they dick around with BYU too long.

More winnable? Yes. More stable? Maybe, maybe not.

The Big East's posturing may be the best thing BYU has for it, if indeed BYU lost favor w the B12...
To wit, the B12 might be forced to consider 12-14 due to the aggression of the Big East.
Some of the Big 12's expansion options could be taken off the table. The teams mentioned as the Big East having their eye on include: AFA, Boise St, Houston, SMU, Navy, Army, UCF, Temple, East Carolina, and Memphis.
AFA was disclosed as being a target by the Big 12 (AFA reportedly turned the B12 down). Some rumors have floated around for Boise St going to the Big 12. Houston has come up a few times as well (but usually was shot down).
It is interesting that BYU hasn't been mentioned as an expansion possibility for the Big East. One would think if Boise St was mentioned then BYU would be a target as well. Did BYU flat out tell them no when the Big East called to see if there was any interest?

In some ways I am glad that Nebraska is no longer a member of the Big 12...

"There wasn't any reason to wait if we knew it would be the right choice," said the source, who added that "additional expansion is still possible."
