I can empathize with BYU fans. Maybe down deep this being continually passed over is the basis for my pain and BYU football.

Shoganai is pretty consistent in his insistence that it's not going to happen. He says that BYU and Notre Dame are in talks with the Fiesta Bowl and BYU is working with a group from San Diego for a long-term Holiday Bowl placement.

Just to go on the record, I think BYU is still technically a Big 12 candidate. I just believe the conference is looking east, not west.

In the meantime, the BYU admin is doing exactly what it should be doing - getting to work on making the best of the current situation, instead of sulking around on message boards wondering why the Big 12 hasn't called in a while...

Why would BYU be wondering why the B12 hasn't called in awhile?

Speaking of which, in all the furor of looking East, has the B12 released its 2012 football schedule? Today is the day. Allegedly.

They have postponed it... And I will say it again. Looking east (BE wise) is stupid.. And not sure they will get any ACC teams to jump but who knows...

It's not an efficient market, so you should both buy and sell.

If it's ready and good enough to show to TV partners, why not release it to the public? That makes no sense.

It makes a lot of sense.

They are obligated to release the schedule to their partners, not the public. So they release the schedule with some sort of NDA-type language. The schedule is loaded with caveats regarding WVU. The partners get an idea of what the schedule *might* look like, subject to the WVU proceedings.

The B12 doesnt want that officially leaked to the public because then negotiation leverage is compromised over the next couple of months as they try to add a replacement for WVU in the Fall. With each passing week that the WVU situation is not resolved, the B12 leverage diminishes even further. My guess is that the schedule was loaded with caveats.

What does all of this mean?
