You don't know how the Heaps hype fits in? Are you SERIOUS!
Jake Heaps has more empathy and charity for his fellow man in his non-throwing arm than ANYONE who has ever played football at the U has in their entire body!
We're talking about a dude who, after Bronco gave him the plan to help raise Ute fan spirits everywhere, simply responded with "thy will be done." How else can you explain BYU's first offensive drive of that game? What about the subsequent turnovers?
That young man sacrificed himself and his football season this year in order to lift and help his brother, the Utes. But he would never admit to it himself...he's much to humble for that. He descended below all things that fateful day in September.
All that remains now is the glorious return. A day we must all prepared for, for no man except Bronco knows when it will happen.
Wait, Utah gets no credit for their generosity against Pac-12 opponents?
BYU beat an SEC team...ON THE ROAD! You have heard of the SEC, haven't you? Ute fans seem to make a big deal out of beating an SEC team themselves a few years back, though that was a neutral site game. When is the last time the U beat an SEC team on the road???
There is a huge chasm between a one loss Alabama team and a 2-5, 0-4 Ole Miss team whose wins are against Southern Illinois and Fresno St.
Col. Klink: "Staff officers are so clever."
Gen. Burkhalter: "Klink, I am a staff officer."
Col. Klink: "I didn't mean you sir, you're not clever."
OK - so I just have to add. Where in my post - or in any posts in this thread - has ANYONE hyped Heaps? Where did that even come from?
Well, if you're confining me to this thread I guess you got me and we can ignore all the hype from the Iggy's press conference thru fall camp this year.

You can't compare teams in different years. I mean, who's to say that Ole Miss this year would not have destroyed the Alabama team from that year? Seriously!
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Alabama 52, Ole Miss 7, 10/15/2011

That is Alabama this year and Ole Miss this year. I'm talking about Alabama 2009 vs Ole Miss 2011. You totally can't make that comparison... *cough*

Of course not. Utah didn't give anything. The PAC12 is just that tough of a conference. The records of those teams combined with Utah's performance against them would seem to indicate that Utah just isn't up to snuff for the PAC12. Unfortunate that ya'll were so excited about this just a year ago.
So - just looking at schedules - is it true that BYU has more PAC12 wins than Utah? And BYU isn't even a member of the PAC?!?

There is a huge difference. Alabama was disappointed to be playing Utah and didn't even want to be there. And that doesn't even take into account the fact that it was a neutral site game. On the other hand, BYU played a team that was excited for their season and was at home. I agree with you. Big difference. Huge chasm.

Let us not forget that this was an undefeated Ole Miss when BYU played them.

I'm looking at some other records which indicate BYU just isn't up to snuff against Utah:
3 of the last 4
7 of the last 10
55-34-4

Anything BYU does = superior
Anything Utah does = inferior
Therefore beating a bad Ole Miss team is superior to beating a one loss Alabama team.
Have I got the equation right?
Poor Alabama for not being able to play for the national title because they lost to Florida. Didn't stop them from thinking that they would roll Utah like Georgia rolled Hawaii. At least, the Tide player who told Stevenson Sylvester that he was going to kill him must have thought so.
Too bad the Utes ambushed the hapless Tide by coming out passing instead of trying to establish the run like they usually did.

I don't know why you do this to yourself - I mean giving me more evidence to prove the point.
Heaps gave up his dream of a national championship this year for U fans everywhere. He even said that was the plan during the Iggy's press conference you reference. And he gave that up for a bunch of drunken goatee wearing Ute fans.
