That's cool that they still want to play their rival. Some schools in the country still honor tradition.

I grew up in western Missouri. This guy is a poser.

I'm convinced the MU is out and they are securing a base in KC to not leave KC high and dry and maintain the Border War, which is big for KC. KC is much closer to Lawrence than Columbia and MU doesn't want to leave KC hanging out to dry to keep its fan base in the area.

        oohhh... Fruedian slip...

That is the only way people learn to speak in Western Missouri. I mean other places don't like a religion they say: "we don't like you." In WESTERN Mizzou they say: "we don't like you and we will either drive you all from the state or kill you."

            Wow.. a straight answer!

If they leave, they anticipate it will be for 2012

Honestly, I don't know what could keep BYU out at this point other than us being completely inflexible on TV rights.

Agreed. That was the biggest thing, by far, that came from this presser.

Mizzou is out. BYU is in.

I'm almost 100% convinced MU is out for 2012. The tournament announcement and traditional rivalry game in Arrowhead make no sense if MU stays in the Big 12.

They used the word "expeditiously" repeatedly. I think they are merely waiting for some i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed by legal teams before making the official announcement. They are gone.

Haven't you learned anything on your time here? Lawyers don't dot the i's and cross the t's. They challenge the need for them in the first place. (That last sentence might also be used for all of the non-lawyers on CUF when referring to the CUF lawyers.)

I didn't graduate from a Big 12 school nor BYU. I graduated from an FCS school, but I'm a fan of the Big 12. The realignment news is interesting, and I've been following this thread for a few weeks now. This is driving me crazy. I can only imagine how all of you feel.

I hope BYU winds up in the Big 12. With the addition of TCU, I think the Big 12 strengthens itself if it adds BYU also. In my wildest dreams, ND would add the non-football sports with a late season football scheduling guarantee. This way, rivalries can begin to be developed between BYU, TCU, BU, and ND. I think people would really buy into these rivalries, and the conference, as well as all of the schools, would greatly benefit from it.

Sorry to change the course of the thread away from Mizz, but I decided I finally wanted to chime in.

Very true. I'm an auditor. I tell people to dot i's and cross t's all day. No wonder everyone hates me.
