Florida State v. Houston Peach Bowl tickets fall below $20
Houston has had attendance problems all year, and it shows in the Peach Bowl's ticket demand against Florida State.
Back when the College Football Playoff was created, the Group of 5 (conferences other than the ACC, Big Ten, Big XII, Pac-12 and SEC) was guaranteed a spot in one of the New Year's Six bowls. This year, that would have meant the Fiesta or the Peach, and since the Fiesta Bowl got stuck with Boise State last year, it was the Peach Bowl's turn to absorb the blow.
That meant the Peach Bowl got Houston, as the Cougars are the highest-ranked Go5 team. Selecting FSU was a great choice as the Seminoles have a fanbase that travels well within the Southeast and Atlanta is a major alumni base for Florida State.
The demand for tickets compared to the other NY6 bowls, however, is almost non-existent. Tickets are now selling for less than $20 on StubHub. The other bowls cost four to six times as much just to get in the door (Fiesta $114, Sugar $129, Orange $139, Cotton $166, Rose $612!!).

On the other hand, tickets to the BYU Bowl are going for record prices...

http://www.big12sports.com/ViewArtic...CLID=210560102Football Non-Conference Scheduling Requirement Announced
The Big 12 has announced it will require Conference football programs to annually play at least one non-conference game against an autonomy conference institution (ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC, plus Notre Dame).
“Schedule strength is a key component in CFP Selection Committee deliberations,” commented Commissioner Bob Bowlsby. “This move will strengthen the resumes for all Big 12 teams. Coupled with the nine-game full round robin Conference schedule our teams play, it will not only benefit the teams at the top of our standings each season, but will impact the overall strength of the Conference.”
Additionally, no Big 12 program shall play more than one game annually against a non-Football Bowl Subdivision opponent.
This new scheduling requirement does not impact existing non-conference game contracts.
I don't think scheduling a P5 NC game will be too much of a problem for Kansas.

BYU is 9-2 (82%) vs Big 12 teams since 1980.
Notre Dame is 11-9 (55%) vs Big 12 teams since 1980.
No wonder Notre Dame likes playing Big 10 and ACC teams."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

There is no shame in losing a competitive bowl game to an 8-4 Kansas team. Kansas has had its moments, although; few and far between.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostAnd one of our losses is to Kansas

B1G and Pac12 say not so fast Big 12...
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sport...1209-post.htmlBig 12 gives UCF fans glimmer of hope, may be forced to add teams
Conference expansion chatter flared up again this week, giving UCF and USF fans a slim glimmer of hope.
Big Ten and Pac-12 officials took aim at the Big 12 for its lack of conference championship game, pushing back against an NCAA rule change that would help the Big 12 avoid expansion.
Big 12 officials have steadfast been opposed to expanding the conference past its current 10-member status in order to qualify for a conference championship game. The NCAA requires conferences to have at least 12 members schools broken up in two divisions in order to host a league championship.
Instead, Big 12 officials have been working toward securing a waiver that would allow each conference to determine on an individual basis whether to A) create a conference championship game or B) determine the parameters used in selecting teams for the championship tilt.
Officials were expecting a decision by next month, but that now appears to be in jeopardy after the Big Ten filed a last-minute amendment that could send the whole plan in disarray.
“We're trying to work our way through it, but I'm less certain of the outcome than I was before,” Bowlsby told ESPN’s Heather Dinich. “We don't think we ought to be forced into adding schools in order to have a championship game, but it could end up that way.”
While Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany isn’t proposing expansion – something which last occurred at the Power 5 level in 2013 – he is in favor of a conference championship determined with the current setup.
According to the ESPN report, Delany wants conference championships determined by a matchup of division winners, not by the top two teams in a conference as would be the case if the Big 12 created a title game.
“I agree a conference should not have to expand in order to have a championship game. That wouldn't be right. That's tail wagging dog,” Delany told ESPN. “On the other hand, I want to have some familiarity - some knowledge as to how these things are going to play out. I don't want unintended consequences. I don't want to wake up one morning and see some odd structure that's unfamiliar.
