This class doesn't have a lot of pizazz... Anyone concerned that we don't have any commits from speed positions this year? Was that on purpose? Did Bronco only want beef this year?

I think there are plenty of young kids in the program at many of the skill positions. Whether or not they are any good time will tell. BYU has a lot of kids coming off missions and a lot of kids not going on missions this year. The roster is going to be pretty young again next year. I don't think this was a banner year for LDS talent. As far as I can follow recruiting the only LDS kid who BYU really wanted unreciprocated is Harvey Langi.

Whether or not it was a function of team needs, coaching decisions or shitty recruiting I don't think we know. I wouldn't get too worked up about it. But it is certainly not a banner class for BYU.

WR: Apo- Fr, Hoffman- So., Falslev jr., Jacobsen sr., rhen brown so., Jordan smith fr., Hafoka, sr., matt marshall sr. Add in Brett Thompson, Oneill Chambers, and Mitch Matthews. We are fine not signing any WRs in this class. Especially since we have commits from Josh Weeks and offers out to a few other top prospects.

RB: Kariya Sr., Quezada, So., Diluigi Sr., Phillips fr., Anthony Heimuli so., Ryan Folson Fr, David Foote so., Mike Hague Jr., AJ Moore Fr., Zed Mendenhall So., Manoa Pikula (incoming fresh), Adam Hine (returning from mission). We signed 4 running backs in last years class (Moore, Phillips, Algernon Brown, and Quezada). Moore is probably leaving on a mission but Hine returns and Brown transferred to Utah State. Also Pen'i Ma'kaafi is on a mission.

LBs: Kaveinga jr, Atkinson Sr, Fua fr, Frazier sr, Pendleton jr, Connell Hess jr, Jorgensen Jr, Keoshian fr, Ogletree jr, Tom Steele Jr, Sae Tautu Fr, KVN soph, Leung-Wai Jr, Austin Nielsen So, Jadon Wagner Sr. Baker Pritchard so, Daniel Sorenson so, Spencer Hadley so, Michael Alisa so. Masi Tuitama Sr. Then you have Zac Stout, Tau Kautai, and Joey Owens who will all likely leave on missions. Coming in you have Austin Heder, and Adam Pulsipher. Throw in about 5 or 6 walkons that played last year and we have close to 30 lbs in the program right now.

DBs: Eason Sr, Buckner so, Everett Jr, Aguirre Sr, Gaines Fr, Fowler So, Uale Sr, Jordan Johnson Fr, Jray Galea'i so. Cameron Comer is home from a mission, if Garrett Nicholson gets his grades up to par he will play, Also Craig Bills, Jacob Hanneman and Trevor Bateman are all on missions. Then we signed 3 JC DBs in this class and already have commits from 2 DBs for next year. So we are set here for a few years as well.

Those seem to be the sexy positions and we have more than enough warm bodies. I think Bronco is tired of not playing a spring game and struggling to find Lineman when he needs them. Remember we lost 3 Defensive tackles to season ending injuries this year and at times only traveled with 7 offensive lineman. He recruited for need in a big way this year.

When will info about the comings and goings come out? So far then Tayo and Algernon Brown are transferring, any others? What is the status about mission service for Stout and Rowley?

Sampsons issue as I understand it is qualifying. He'd be at BYU if he could, and is potentially a fall enroll. As I understand it.

Gurney at TBS says Sampson's revised plan is to enroll at BYU in May. Precedent indicates he won't, but I suppose we'll see. The other JC kids are already enrolled.
