USC freshman quarterback Ricky Town left the program Sunday, influenced by the emergence of fellow freshman Sam Darnold, according to sources.Town informed USC coach Steve Sarkisian he would transfer and Sarkisian said he did not try to stop him. That could be interpreted as another sign Darnold’s play made it easier to lose a quarterback who was ranked No. 1 in the nation by several recruiting services during his junior year at St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura.
“You want someone who wants to be here,” Sarkisian said. “You’d have to ask Ricky (if he was influenced by Darnold’s play). The quarterback position is unique because you don’t get to play two at the same time.”Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Wasn't Darnold looking at Utah before choosing USC? I heard about Ricky "Skipping" Town on the radio this morning. That seems like a pretty quick exit, even if another guy or two were having a better camp. It's not like he was going to come in and supplant Kessler. I guess Sark had an episode last night at some donor event. He was drunk and made some irresponsible comments. I guess he is going through a divorce. Sad stuff.
