Highlights: buying and selling and trading up tickets until I wound up with 2 tickets and made $30, going to the game for free and making money in the process.

lowlight: losing in that final drive bringing no pressure and not sure what the defense was thinking in that final utah TD. Also, terrible time for Kessler to go cold.

head scratcher: I've never seen a higher ranked team fan base Rush the field for beating a lower ranked team.

RES is a great game atmosphere. I have always felt that way and still do.

Not sure if they made a point of explaining in TV, but the wind was crazy out there. Trash blowing everywhere, no way you kick the FG in that mess.

the game would have ended if nelson didn't step out of bounds. The FG wasn't going to be necessary.

Would it have been like a 40 yarder or so?

That might have been a good spot to try the fake.

I suppose they could have but that drive was pretty textbook, they were eating clock and moving the ball in short spurts. I was frustrated that sark seemed to determined to use Allen and Davis to get yardage when Kessler had over the middle all game long. the play to nelson was a good call, just didn't execute.

the defensive play calling in the final drive was stupid, soft coverage and no pressure. Recipe for disaster. Wilcox is like a nick Howell but with better athletes at his disposal. Utah and Asu both lost in the final seconds of the game when sc is trying to protect a lead.

I was just getting home from work to see the last 9 minutes or so, and I thought USC was way too soft on the last drive as well. That's always how it seems to go for almost every team in that situation, though. There are some really impressive freshman on USC.

Every single thing has bounced Utahs' way this year except for Dres Anderson dropping that game winning TD against WSU.

Yeah, like sc forcing a fumble and recovering it and running back for a TD but the refs blow the play dead to review instead of letting it play out and then reviewing. Thanks.

That was some real crap there. The refs always blow the whistle too fast. You can always review it later if there's a mistake.

It was a great football game. It was one of those games that would be fun to watch if you didn't care who won. USC is faster and more talented than Utah. Both teams played hard, both of them made bad mistakes and great plays as well. One or two different bounces of the ball and USC wins. In the end we were fortunate to get the win.

Actually happens quite frequently if the fans consider it to be a big game or a huge win. If it's a rivalry game, for example, fans will still rush the field even if they're ranked higher than their rivals. If it's a bowl game they rush. If it were a #1 team beating a #2 team, the fans will likely rush the field because it was a big game. Baylor rushed the field when they beat TCU earlier this month. For Utah fans, this is a signature win for them, so I can see them rushing the field.

I'm in SoCal and was listening to the USC broadcast, they agreed with Sark on not kicking it there because of the wind.

Not kicking wasn't really the issue. Play selection was. On both 3rd and 4th down they ran plays with a 50/50 chance--if not greater--of stopping the clock.

Looks like Whit is getting a little touchy about allegations of cheating in order to beat SC.

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham was asked this week about the contention that some the Utes used an “illegal pick” to score their winning touchdown.“Who’s saying that?,” Whittingham said. “No, we didn’t pick anybody. We just ran motion, ran a receiver to the flat.
“If your receiver who’s not the primary guy happens to get in the defender’s path by virtue of his route, that’s just football. If you make an intentional and obvious attempt to find that defender, now it becomes illegal.”
