My quick thoughts....
1. That is an interesting CB ticket ad. You don't see enough ticket ads these days that simultaneously taunt/attack people. We need more of that.
"For sale: 2 tickets to U2. Floor seats. You don't have to buy them, though. You can just stay home and look in the mirror at your male pattern baldness and wonder why you are a total loser. Serious inquiries only, please!"
2. If you are looking for a deuce, buy on game day or just keeping checking craigslist, ksl, etc. If you are looking for group sales, you are going to be risking it big time. 4s are tough and the scalpers know it, so they price accordingly. Anything above 4, you better be absolutely sure that the game is not a sellout.
3. Keep in mind that just because you go on game day, this doesn't mean you will land tickets. You need to have some ability and patience to root out the seats and the deal. It usually is not too hard, but it does take effort on the part of the buyer.
4. I think I am going to buy day of. My goal is club seats for a C-note each (or less). This will be a good goal because I anticipate those seats to be sold out. What I will bank on, ironically, is that Labor Day plans will interfere with some folks going to the game. I know this seems counterintuitive, but holidays actually work in your favor for last minute deals. People change plans for kids or school and they have to dump their tickets at the last minute.
If the game is not sold out, I predict you will be able to buy nosebleeds by the pair for about $35 each, no problem.
