I did look at the Wiki to get the PCC breakup timeline correct, the rest is the real story. All these schools tout themselves as founding members of the PAC and it is generally considered that they are. This is not in dispute amongst those that follow the PAC 10.

I don't care what story the Pac-10 is trying to sell, the Cal schools and WA would have gone their own way without the Oregon schools and Wazzu if they could have made it happen.
Second, Oregon especially was a huge player in the formation of the WAC and if the Pac folks hadn't come calling, they would have been a WAC founding member.
One more fact for ya, but for the intervention of Utah President A. Ray Olpin and his personal friendship with BYU President Wilkenson, BYU would not have been included in the original WAC as the other members didn't want a private school. So each time you insult me, remember that you owe your very ability to do so, to a Ute.Comment
