That was general feeling as well. He may have received news from the NFL review panel that prompted his return.

Until the draft told Harvey he wouldn't be drafted very high, or at all, I think Harvey was going. In the final analysis I think the degree might be what provides Harvey a living and that became more valuable upon reading his draft prospects.

I think we are going to see some I-Formation or Offset formations where Unga and Q are in the backfield and Harvey does some blocking. That is where he is going to get an NFL paycheck if he does end up drawing one...

I remember being overly excited for J.J. and quickly tempering my expectations when I saw him in person and on the field. I was mildly excited for Josh until I saw him (on television); now I am officially sold.
Actually I had the same reaction. Totally pumped for J.J., then being bummed seeing him on the field. Decided not to get excited for Q, but now that I see him on the field, I think he's legit.

David Locke, local voice of the Jazz, and general statistician as well as self-proclaimed know-nothing on college football, did have an interesting stat on the success of BYU's plays out of the I-formation. IIRC, it was by 10 percentage points their most successful formation and highest in the country. Again, this was based on a conversation he was having with his marble-mouthed companion the week of the rivalry, it was 6 months ago, it was snowing, and I was driving uphill both ways so don't quote me.

I doubt this happens next year. For one, BYU coaches could care less that Harvey is projected as a fullback. They will play him where it is best for the team and not his future. Also, Harvey hasn't proven himself as durable. They won't risk him getting hurt playing that position.

Harvey won't play a single down as fullback at BYU.
