Brother Buck has been hanging around as the uhhhhh "strength training nutritional supplement" coach. It is a win-win for BYU. It gets a top notch running back bigger and stronger, while simultaneously ensuring he is not as attractive to the ladies once the word uhhhhh gets out!

Thing what Brother Buck could have done with a 210 lb, yet impotent, Ronnie Jenkins!

Losing that kid was a tragedy of epic proportions. He, McKenzie, and Chow conspiring to fool everyone on hand that day in RES was a thing of beauty. We're a passing team, Ron. Think pass while my stud running back duo feeds you your lunch.

That sounds and looks nice, but the question I always have is how much speed and explosiveness did he lose as a result.

Apparently he was put on the Jordan Wynn diet.

Josh Quezada was 210 in high school he is now about 218 so he really has not gained that much weight. However he has gained good weight. He does not look much bigger than he did in high school.

Hard to believe he was playing that fast at 210 but I'll take your word for it. Some of those games he looked very un-BYUesque in his breakaway speed and ability to cut back (that may speak more to the competition than his top end speed but that's another argument entirely)...I hope the added muscles only serves to make him stronger and not any slower.

I remember being overly excited for J.J. and quickly tempering my expectations when I saw him in person and on the field. I was mildly excited for Josh until I saw him (on television); now I am officially sold.

Honestly, I think we were expecting a steady dose of Jenkins after the Rice game. There just wasn't a whole lot we could do about it.

Quezeda was great get for BYU, I was saddened the day he chose poorly.

I can't remember the player(was it Love?) that did a little something about it. Ronnie thought he was Moose Johnston all of the sudden and Love sent him to the 4th dimension.

I think you are referring to Kautai Oleveo who sent Ronnie to the 4th dimension. That was a brutal hit.

I was thinking about that the other day it came down to BYU or Utah.

Utah has Asiata and Wide who are both seniors, and Shak who is I believe a RS soph? Other than that not a ton of RB depth.

BYU has Unga who is a senior.
JJ Diluigi, Mike Hague, Bryan Kariya who are Juniors.
Malosi Te'o who is a RS freshman

Then coming in along with Quezada is Drew Phillips, AJ Moore and Algernon Brown. Currently on missions at the RB position are Adam Hine, Anthony Heimuli, Peni Maakafi, along with Iona Pritchard who can play both ways.

Then in 2011 they already have a commit from Manoa Pikula. If they can land Harvey Langi it is even deeper.

Just seems like in terms of the best chance for immediate playing time was Utah. Obviously this kid was very confident because he came in and JJ Diluigi has essentially been moved to the slot position and Quezada is number 2 behind Harvey now.

Wow! You don't see open-field tackles like that very often. Ronnie zigged when he should have zagged.

Yeah he must have really preferred BYU to come into this situation. RB is a great position to over-recruit, as long as a bunch of them don't mind playing other positions. I wonder if we should have recruited some other positions, though, as our RB depth seems pretty excessive.

Unga's stance on the NFL was not publicly known when Josh committed(may have been privately known to Josh), other than that, I would agree. Asiata coming back was not a given at that time as well.

It wasn't publicly known but I think that everyone including Harvey's teammates thought that he was going to the NFL.
