Hall is great against middling defensive teams and struggles against good-to-great passing defenses.

I think I'd have to agree there. Where the issue is making the right read and throwing to the right guy, Hall has been excellent. Where he messed up, was against coverages/individual players that weren't exactly what he expected. All the picks he threw at the beginning of the season that were supposed to be easy short dumps to Pitta (I think those were five of his early picks), where the LBs knew it was coming and jumped the route for an easy pick. I'm sure Hall was playing football by the numbers there. Against the D he read at the time of the snap, Pitta was SUPPOSED to be open. It was supposed to be an automatic throw. So he made it. As the season progressed, he stopped making that throw. Whether it was a coaching change, or just an adjustment that he made - look at the LB before making the automatic throw - I'm not sure, but those picks stopped after a few games...
