Probably because you're on the wrong team. You have to separate and when someone tries to get you to see the big picture it's very distressing.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI do not mean to get cross-wise with you on this. I'm just starting to find the whole discussion depressing.

I am guessing that you are having a bad day. I hope it gets better for you! No offense intended or taken!Originally posted by jay santos View PostProbably because you're on the wrong team. This would assume that being self righteous or just plain righteous is a binomial proposition. There probably is a spectrum of righteous to Self righteous. The key is to know where you fall.Originally posted by jay santos View PostThen there is absolute truth. There is right and wrong. There must be a moral code which God authorizes. There is in fact a way to measure righteousness or specifically the level to which someone follows God's morality. So if there is a way to measure righteousness, then there must be a way to compare two groups of people and determine which is more righteous.
Group A: goes to church, serves missions, pays tithing
Group B: pours beer on opposing fans at games

That was not a softball, it was a wicked slider; but you hit it out of the park just the same. LOL.Originally posted by creekster View PostOn saturday two utes fell just behind Andrew George, which worked out pretty well for BYU. Thanks.
But, but . . . it occurs to me now that you are also admitting that the TD resulted from the Ute defensive players' screw-up. That still means that the BYU team outplayed Utah, but it suggests - only suggests, I say! - that Max's pass was not the "clutch" throw that someone here suggested it was.

Good thing you're not one of those self-righteous pricks who judges others.Originally posted by Fiyero View PostMatthew 7:21-23

(Seriously, Fiyero, I'm just teasing...)At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

The screw-up was playing the ball not the guy. The throw was wicked awesome and would have gotten to him either way, thus delaying the inevitable and prolonging your pain. So they sort of did you a favor, knowing they were going to lose anyway.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostThat was not a softball, it was a wicked slider; but you hit it out of the park just the same. The problem is that if Jay was trolling or bluffing, what he posted is (I hate to say) kind of characteristic for him.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostLOL Jay. I can't believe how easily you hooked some of these guys.
Silly me, I always think people mean what they say and don't try to waste well-meaning people's time. But I guess it is kind of cute when people do that. Especially grown men.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

If you only read sports Jay then I guess I could see where you're coming from. But if you read religion Jay then you'd know he's the last person who'd be judging. He doesn't frequent the religion forum like he used to.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostThe problem is that if Jay was trolling or bluffing, what he posted is (I hate to say) kind of characteristic for him.

Characteristic of me? lol. I think 90% of the problem you guys have with "self-righteous" BYU fans is imaginary. This is another example.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostThe problem is that if Jay was trolling or bluffing, what he posted is (I hate to say) kind of characteristic for him.
