Lol, your question has gone from dumbed down to "demonstrably" dumbed down. Nice fall back to defend your hapless position.

Did Bronco not say at one time they needed to dumb down the schedule and then scheduled NIU. He didn't follow through going that route. We are happy, so should you be.

Does BYU schedule their bowl games in advance, or are you including Utah as a BCS school?

What makes you think I'm not happy? I guarantee you I've been happier about our 10-2 and 13th ranked season more than most of the miserable bastards on CB, CUF and TBS.

Don't let adverbs get in the way of actually answering the question.

number of BCS games played by all teams in BCS conferences

                Pac 10 - at least 9 gams
                Big 12 - at least 8 games
                Big 10 - at least 8 games
SEC - at least 8 games
ACC - at least 8 games
Big East - at least 7 games

Until BYU is in a BCS conference playing 2 games against BCS conference opponents is pretty weak. Yes 2 BCS games is what BYU has historically done and I have not been bitching about having only 2 games. I did bitch as loud as I could when NIU was added and there was talk about how "dumbing down" was what BYU needed to do. However, lets not pretend that playing 2 BCS teams per year is a very difficult schedule or even a very good one for that matter.

WHen did we schedule Army? If it was in 2012 and 2013 we currently have one BCS game on the schedule for those years combined. In 2012 we play Washington and that is it. I know these games are a couple of years away so 2013 can be fixed, but the 2012 schedule will only have one BCS team on it if Army was added in that year.

                2012 has one BCS team
                2013 has no BCS teams

Regardless, I'm talking about past BYU schedules versus current ones and whether or not there has been an effort to water current schedules down compared to past schedules.

Army was removed as an OOC opponent a year or two ago. Arizona State and Washington have ducked out of series against us, not vice versa. Other schools (eg. Nebraska) believe they are worthy of 2 for 1s, which leaves us in the lurch with trying to get quality, balanced OOC schedules.

So you are in the camp that believes that the schedule it is as good as it can be. OK. I don't believe it, but OK.

I think the 2009 schedule was about good as anyone could have reasonably expected it to be. How many other non-BCS schools had OOC schedules this year against two (projected) top 15 BCS schools?

I didn't complain about the schedule this year. What made the schedule particularly good this year though was playing 2 highly ranked teams within our conference. Playing 2 BCS teams out of conference was par for the course.

I would like for us to add one more BCS team to our OOC schedule. That would give us 3 BCS conference teams and two BCS quality teams on our schedule. 5 games against quality opponents is a big step in the right direction for us. IMHO

Just curious, would it make you feel better if BYU were scheduling Northwestern and Iowa State instead of Boise State and Tulsa?

I would rather they schedule Northwestern and Iowa State than Tulsa. Boise has enough perceived clout that scheduling Boise is ok.

BTW you could still schedule Northwestern or Iowa State and keep Boise or Tulsa. You only need to drop one of the OOC patsies from our schedule to get to three BCS teams. Like I said, I was not complaining about this year, but I still think we need to do better with scheduling especially since the MWC is so crappy outside of the top 3.

I honestly don't know why BYU fans are completely content with BYU's scheduling.
