No, we must argue and argue and argue until one of us gives up or until we start calling each other filthy names. Don't you know the rules around here?

"God made the angels to show His splendour - as He made animals for innocence and plants for their simplicity. But men and women He made to serve Him wittily, in the tangle of their minds."

Hall launched a 50 yard pass down the side line off one foot while running to his right. The pass was right on. Collie slowed down a bit, but can you really find complain about that? This wasn't a specific route he was running, he just made space for himself and Hall found him.
Its alarming, from a fan persective, that you automatically assume that it was a poor play by the other team, and not a great play by YOUR team.
You are free to be alarmed.
I know I have high standards and high expectations for the teams I root for.

Brice McCain was a very good DB. So good he's playing the NFL now. His task that game, as well as the during the game last year, was to stop Collie. He spouted off about it before the 2008 game. The point is, Collie was our only deep threat. McCain knew that, and Collie still got open on the most important play of the game. And he wasn't just "open." He was wide open.
The next year, when Pitta was practically a non-factor and Collie was our only real weapon, McCain was again tasked with locking him down. The Utes keyed on him all game, yet Collie still matched his regular season high for receptions (10) for more than 100 yards.
Given these stats, I'd say its more likely that it was Collie that was the difference, and not a McCain goof up like you're painting it to be.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
Dig your own grave, and save!
