I'm talking about his mouth here. No BYU QB since McMahon would talk that way about an opponent. He should make the NFL just because of the great interviews he would give on Jim Rome. The whole thing is refreshing.

But Max Hall is not a great college football quarterback; Jim McMahon was. It helps to be able to walk the walk if you're going to walk the walk. I can feel his pain in those comments; he's like an open sore. His humiliation last year must have been terrible. It must be awful never to have really redeemed himself. Max Hall is terribly disappointed in himself right now. I like how he said, "I hate everything."Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostNow I understand why everyone says that Max Hall is like Jim McMahon. I'm not one bit upset about the comments, though. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

It does kind of reek of little brother syndrome. What he really hates is that Utah defeated Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, and Oklahoma went 7-5.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostBut Max Hall is not a great college football quarterback; Jim McMahon was. He doesn't have a tenth the wit and intellegence of McMahon, even less the football playing ability.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostI'm talking about his mouth here. I love this quote from him. I love seeing his torment. Do you think this game makes up for last year? Clearly not. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

I highly enjoy how every time a story comes out about a Utah fan dumping beer on a BYU fan or player the Utes immediately come out and cry "liar, liar, pants on fire!"
Really? I'm sorry, but I'm going to believe Max Hall over a nameless, faceless internet poster who says it never happened.
And of course BYU fans can distinguish between beer and another liquid. Beer reeks.
Max Hall came from Arizona. He had zero history with Utah before going to BYU. Something happened over these three years that made him make these comments tonight. Something concrete.
The Utah fanbase has a very nasty element, and good Ute fans everywhere need to work on getting rid of it rather than turning a blind eye.
And just to be clear, I know many, many great Utah fans. I am friends with several Utes who would never act poorly in relation to the rivalry. I'm not painting with a broad brush.

LOL. All Max would have to do would be to show the Utah collective his bare ass and the transformation to McMahon would have been complete. Wit? Shirley you jest.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostHe doesn't have a tenth the wit and intellegence of McMahon, even less the football playing ability.

I heard the torment, and then I heard the release. He sounded like Howard Roark on the mic when asked if he wanted Utah to win their bowl game - "sigh. I don't care". Roark to Toohey, biyotch. Classic.Last edited by Colly Wolly; 11-28-2009, 08:27 PM.

Sorry, Sooner. No dice. OU has three or four times the tradition of success of Texas. We've won six Big 12 titles since the inception of the conference. No other team has won even two.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostBYU does not have little brother syndrome. Utah is to BYU what OU is to Texas.
Oh, and if BYU isn't the little brother, its fans and quarterbacks should perhaps stop playing the part.

Utah clearly owns Max Hall. His frustrations at least partially stem from the fact that he failed to show up three times against the Utes. The Cougar defense gets the game ball tonight; scoring 20 points should not have gotten it done, for all intents and purposes, but the D stepped up and made plays when they needed to. The offense was terrible.Originally posted by pellegrino View PostI have to agree.

He hates everything about beating his rival 2 of 3 times. He hates everything about winning 80% of his games. He hates everything about an outright conference championship. He hates everything about winning a conference player of the year award. He hates everything about knocking off a #3 ranked team on a huge national stage. He hates everything about being the winningest quarterback in school history.
If he could go back in time, he would ditch football and focus on golf. I'm sure of it, given his post game comments.
