If TCU finishes 13-0, they will be the best team the MWC has ever seen.
But to say they're the best right now is premature.

I have learned two things in this thread: 1) Goatnapper is the most honest BYU fan I've ever known; 2) Boylenover is even more inexplicably a BYU fan sycophant than Il Padrino. He says wait and see, but is ready to proclaim 13-0 TCU the best ever before even seeing who they play in a bowl and how they beat them! I recomend Goat's analysys to everyone as the one with most integrity.

Huge huge mistake attacking two of the most beloved posters on CUF, not to mention Top 25 posters on UFN and also fellow Utes.
If there really were a pirate ship, your Ute shipmates likely would have made you walk the plank by now.
Well, we know it wasn't 2004 Utah, since they didn't play (and beat) any good teams. Thus saith SeattleUte.
2006 BYU was a lot better than 2001 BYU. 2001's defense made last year's defense look like the Baltimore Ravens, while 2006 was one of BYU's best defenses in history.
Having said that, 2006 BYU probably doesn't belong in the conversation with 2 losses.

Pitt and Texas A&M were at least as good as anyone beaten by TCU this year. Pitt was a BCS conference champion. Just because the Utes handled them doesn't mean they were bad. Your reasoning is circular! Clemson was a bad team when TCU squeeked by it.

i wonder how many people who are voting TCU '09 on this poll are doing it just b/c they hate the utes.
You need to evaluate this poll alongside Art's other poll asking about who is for BYU and who is for Utah. BYU fans hate the 2008 Utes most of all, because they hate Whit, they hate Whit's resounding vindication in 2008, they hate that they had to put their money on the wrong horse after they wanted Whit so badly, they hate 2008's humiliation of a good BYU team, they hate that the 2008 Utes were so genuinely accomplished. No one says that 2008 Ute team played an easy schedule. They hate they hate they hate the 2008 team. That is the bitterest pill they've had to swallow.

That's a nice little line you've got there, all it needs is a catchy tune and I think you're on to something.

As the only person here who attended the bowl games of BYU 2001, Utah 2004, and Utah 2008, I confidently vote for BYU 2001 in this poll. Their team depth, heart, and sheer talent laid a beatdown on Louisville that has only been equaled by Texas in the 2005 Big 12 Championship game.
The jury is still out, and will be until after TCU's bowl game. If one were to exclude bowl games, 2008 Utah wouldn't be in the mix. They were good, to be sure, but didn't impress me all that much. At least two of their wins were due in part to coaching errors by the opponent and they were blessed/lucky/whatever to win. On the other hand, the demolition of Alabama was truly extraordinary and raised my opinion of them to right around the '04 Utes, and I concur with Napper's assessment of each.

Why would we exclude bowl games? LOL.
