Also, I think we lose in Fort Worth, but 3 out of the 4 times we've played them the talent has been in favor of the Horned Frogs, and we're 3-1 with that loss coming in OT, so it's not exactly a stretch to believe we won't get blown out of the stadium.

Screw Thermopylae (but I appreciate the sentiment). The Greeks lost that battle.

LOL, you don't know Whittingham very well do you. He may know it is a tough road to beating TCU, but I will bet money he thinks if he gets his throwing QB ready, he can beat BYU.


If he beats BYU this year, he probably thinks he has put another pretty sizeable dent in the BYU mystique.

Didn't Utah win last year because of two missed chip shots by the TCU kicker?

Utah does match up better against TCU. utah has athletes. BYU doesn't. Plus Utah has some mental toughness. That will make the game much more interesting.

Exactly SU , Whit is doing the exact opposite of what you are saying. He is giving up on the season knowing that he will get waxed by both TCU and BYU so he figures he might as well start the rebuilding process now as the smoke and mirrors team that Utah is will soon be exposed.

Even if Utah loses to both TCU and BYU this will be a damn good season considering all that Utah lost. So far, this year has been Whittingham's best year from a coaching standpoint.

Utahs Defense is ranked 17th in the country, TCUs is 1st. Utahs offense is ranked 48th, TCUs is 10th. All signs point to a TCU blowout. Stranger things have happened but with so much uncertainty regarding the QB and playcalling situation I see a TCU blowout.

Why wouldn't he be content? Victories over Bo Diddly Tech in the Nobody-gives-a-damn Bowl are the backbone of Utah's impressive Bowl record.

I don't see that this is very complicated. I have the feeling that Utah has been trying to milk a full year out of Cain to be able to redshirt Wynn. Cain has regressed the last 2-3 weeks. He gave Whitt hope during the second half of CSU, but that was douses by mediocre performances by the Offense vs UNLV and AFA. Cain started the year ahead of Wynn, which is why he started. If Wynn has continued to progress through the year and Cain has not, he likely has overtaken him as the better QB. If Cain performed against UNLV as poorly as he did against AFA, I think you may have seen Wynn in earlier.

Doesn't Utah only have four 10 win seasons over the past 30 years?

That's one way to look at it. Another would be that Utah has two undefeated seasons over the last 5 years.

I'll be really happy with a 10 win season. Even a 9 win season would be terrific considering all the players that left this team from last year.
