I think an argument can be made that mormons provide an overwhelmingly disproportionate share of NFL tight ends, given the percentage of mormons within the American population. I think at one time 5 NFL teams were starting mormons at TE, a couple of years ago. I have watched BYU's recruiting and there are a lot of capable tight end prospects in the hatch and I think the offense will continue to be very friendly to tight ends. It is only a matter of time. BYU has had stellar tight end play from NFL caliber tight ends every year this decade except 2003 and 2004.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Clearly there is something in the LDS theology that creates TEs, one simply can not argue that fact. I hope you are right about the future BYU TEs. However there have been some great ones in the past, to say that one of those you listed will be the GOAT is a lofty statement. I would settle for them being = Lewis, Mili, Jolley, Pitta, George.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostI think an argument can be made that mormons provide an overwhelmingly disproportionate share of NFL tight ends, given the percentage of mormons within the American population. The point I am making is that I have heard "the best ever" reference to Pitta, and Harline. I think the next will be good and likely peform to the same level as these others.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostClearly there is something in the LDS theology that creates TEs, one simply can not argue that fact. Psst. Lingo. Max doesn't play defense. We can only go by how well he played offense.Originally posted by JohnnyLingo View PostWhich is all well and good, but if Oklahoma scores 34 in that game (well below what they were predicted to score), how do you feel about Max?If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

I think it has to do with our sexual repression and dislike of homosexuals.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostI think an argument can be made that mormons provide an overwhelmingly disproportionate share of NFL tight ends, given the percentage of mormons within the American population. If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

I treated Walsh bad because he was a dick.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostI think the BYU fans treatment of Walsh was idiotic. I find it the same mentality the leads to folks not being happy with 10-2.
Saying that I think there was more to Walsh not being beloved than the terrible defense. He came across like an arrogant asshole and just wasn't real endearing above and beyond following Ty Detmer (cue the being unhappy with 10 wins mentality). I don't think those are justified reasons for BYU not liking Walsh just pointing out that there is a particular ninniness in the fanbase (i.e. not being able to enjoy 10 win seasons) and it pervades into many assesments of the status of players and things.
