Reyna for Dest is a good sub. It was a piss poor half by everyone but Dest was particularly bad.

The moment is too big for the US team so far.

All three goals allowed have been some of the worst defending I have seen from this team with the third being a straight giveaway. You cant do those things and win world cup knockout gsmes at this level.

Re: the hosting discussion from earlier, the Canada/US/Mexico hosting has been a massive success. I can see why many would support a prompt return.

I think the whole saga ended up being worse for us. Something had us on another planet for most of the game.

That was an awful performance. The GK unable to quickly punt the ball and causing that score was the icing on the cake. 2-goals easily should’ve been stopped. Richards played terrible in the defensive middle and Reams not getting physical on the taller Belgium players allowed for the one header.. The passes were terrible and we could not maintain possession much like previous games to get into a rhythm. As soon as they put Reyna and Pepi in, I know we had given up. Berhalter in for Pulisic (Unworthy to be on the team.) The fact he even made the team over Aiden Morris is a prime example of the USSF nepotism of generational players who should not be considered over better talent.

I agree the whole saga and reversal of the red card did us no favors. I would say the Center Ref was more critical in their favor because of it. The fouls were fairly even but some critical missed calls in our favor may have helped. But, no way we win that game with the performance we had.

Belgium crushes USA's World Cup dream: 'We held a meeting when we heard the news'

Belgium's players had held a team meeting after Balogun's FIFA reprieve and had vowed to make a statement against the World Cup co-hosts.

"Belgium's players had held a team meeting after Balogun's shock FIFA reprieve and had vowed to make a statement against the World Cup co-hosts"

I feel for the team that they had a target on their backs through no fault of their own.

I’m kind of glad we lost so badly. A close game would have been hard to stomach but this was a whopping. It’s also good for my kids to find out that America sucks at soccer. Soccer is a game for uncoordinated kids in America, which is why we always focus on adult sports like football. Baseball, and basketball.

These jokes are boring. Very similar to hipsters who recycle the "is there some kind of sportsball contest today?" bit on every Super Bowl Sunday.

Sorry, this is not a serious sport. Calling that Egypt goal back after VAR is just criminal. Imagine if every time a touchdown was scored, there was slow-mo review of every offensive lineman to determine if there was holding or any other penalty on the play.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

This is a stupid comparison and you know it. But I certainly concede that VAR is suffering from what video review has suffered from after implementation in all sports at every level: overuse and abuse. I will also concede that of all the sports/leagues, the NFL has review procedures best-calibrated to overturn major mistakes while trying to avoid pulling apart the game itself.
