  • Timmy's gotta be done, right? Manu, too? I'm not hoping or anything, just speculating.

Tim is currently (and likely to be for some time) the greatest power forward ever to play the game and...a weird stat here... he's also the only NBA player to never commit a foul in his career.

I think he is done. I have always liked his game but that drive to the hole near the end of the game last night where he tried but got no lift and then got stuffed for the effort was just sad to watch. Even he seemed in disbelief. But he is a center, not a PF. Or you can say he played both, but I have always htought of him as a center.
      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Plus this way you can still make the argument Karl Malone is the greatest PF of all time. It also helps to put the "pure" designation in front of PG so that John Stockton can be considered the best at that position as well.

Then for the few years after David Robinson retired, who played center for the spurs? The fact is that the reason TD gets shoved into the PF cateogry is due to the same sort of impulse; he would never be the greatest center of all time, but he might be the greatest PF.

You can argue KM was the greatest PF either way. Championships obviously favor TD, but the other numbers not as much. But the fact is DUncan was a great one and I loved his game. But he just wasnt a PF, pure or otherwise.
            PLesa excuse the tpyos.

That was sad to watch. Afterwards, he put his head down, stared at the floor, and moped over towards the bench. Definitely time to retire.

Like I said. There was no other center. And they ran the offense through his high post a lot as I recall

So is Andre Miller and he actually played last night. When was the last time that 2 40 years old played in a NBA playoff game?

I fear that Andre Miller is done with the NBA as well.

Karl Malone with his muscle mass probably outweighed Duncan, so pound for pound Duncan was the greatest PF of all time.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I don't think that's what pound for pound means.

Maybe now he can focus on his education.

He got his degree a long time ago. No need to focus further there. He should focus on teaching his incredible knowledge of the game of basketball to others. Miller would make a great coach.

                              • OKC playing pretty smart ball right now, and GS looks flustered. The Thunder could pull this off.
