Really a sign of a poor ref IMO to follow up an obvious mistake by issuing a bunch of technical fouls. Let the team yell at you a little after you miss a call, especially if you just let the guy get hit in the head.
I thought the refs were unusually bad tonight, but they managed to screw up a lot of calls for both sides. But the quick double-T was the worst and, as you say, the sign of a very weak, insecure ref. The real story is Curry scoring 17 points in OT. He was clearly shaking off rust during regulation, but stepped up in the crunch. I didn't even mind his boasting, "I AM BACK!" after the last three.

    • That was a great second half and OT, fun basketball.

      • Curry becomes the first unanimous MVP in NBA history, and after last night's OT (most points ever scored in OT by one player), I doubt anyone's regretting their votes, despite Curry's poor start. It'll be tough to top his acceptance speech from last year, in which he said something nice about each person on the team and staff, including the individuals who do security, travel arrangements, uniform prep, etc. As the article indicates, his speech galvanized the entire organization. He may be the most humble and personable MVP in history (although Magic was always pretty cool).

Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Mein Bruder! The Dubs are bringing us together nearly as well as does the Donald.

They have also strengthened my marriage. By agreement, my wife and I share some hobbies, but we also have our own interests. The Warriors are in the former category and we've watched together nearly every game this season. With the help of the Warriors' very skilled announcing team (esp. Jim Barnett), she's developed a pretty extensive understanding of the game. Last night in the third quarter she said, "I don't understand why we're going with the small ball line-up here.... Oh, wait, I see Ezeli's taking off his warm-up jersey and is coming in. That makes sense now."

                  Nice!

The Dubs (thanks for the tip re what to call them) are a rare experience. How often do you see or taste something and say to yourself, "Yes! This is what ____________ is supposed to be!" Till the Dubs, we never really watched basketball, did we.

                    • Wow, there have been some great games lately. Thunder come back from being down double digits and steal one in SA. Crazy how cold SA went down the stretch.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

classic choke job by the "play basketball the right way" darlings and especially Aldridge. 3 points in the last 4 minutes.

I'm with you and SU. It has been a really cool bonding experience with my 14-yo daughter, who follows them religiously. She knows every stat of every player, and I can't get enough of Stephen Curry. She and I texted back and forth for an hour the other day while she was on a bus to a track meet and giving me stats and play-by-plays on the game I missed.
