I've never really studied this picture before, but Mz. Torrence captured a lot of greatness:Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostThat would put him in second place....and you know what happens when you finish in second place!

1. The headdress guy in Car #2
2. The dog walker
3. The use of Audis/VWs as the celebratory vehicles
4. The dude on his cell trying to explain to his friends how to get to Main Street.
5. The news camerman (obviously from KSL) wearing his BYU colors. :loser:

What about the guy out for a walk with his dog who didn't realize there was a parade going on.Originally posted by Applejack View PostI've never really studied this picture before, but Mz. Torrence captured a lot of greatness:

Different one. Seems like the one in his post knew what was going on.Originally posted by Joe Public View PostThe same one he mentioned in item number 2 of his post, or a different one?Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

it is actually a pretty unique parade. you dont often see people lined up one-deep at a parade. most of the time those people are simply referred to as pedestrians.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I think you are a parade elitist.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postit is actually a pretty unique parade. you dont often see people lined up one-deep at a parade. most of the time those people are simply referred to as pedestrians.
I've seen lots of one-deep parades. San Francisco LOVES one-deep parades. So does Europe. I've always thought of Salt Lake as very European. Plus, if you look towards Eagle Gate (which anyone with a firm testimony of Prophets would do) you'll notice that there is quite a throng assembled. My guess is that the picture we have was taken towards the end of the parade route where everything -except for Sly's enthusiasm - sort of peters out.
[Sorry for the threadjack, Lakers fans. Please continue discussing the current team.]

I enjoyed this quick read from Grantland's Brian Phillips on Kobe and the slow and painful death of an alpha dog. I'm a sucker for pretty much anything Molly Lambert writes, but Phillips is quickly becoming my favorite Grantland contributor. His Iditarod piece a couple years back was fascinating, and his piece on Sumo Wrestling and Japanese political culture was brilliant. That website would be insanely awesome if Bill Simmons and Rembert Browne didn't ever attempt to contribute.

I read this article about Simmons awhile ago re: the rumor that he'll leave ESPN after his contract's up this year after that three-week suspension they gave him (ESPN supposedly pays him $5 mill a year):Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI enjoyed this quick read from Grantland's Brian Phillips on Kobe and the slow and painful death of an alpha dog. i recall a relatively recent post wherein imanhojin thought he had cleverly tricked me by illustrating that for my position to be a consistent one, I would have to admit that the Lakers should also get rid of Kobe and be better off for it.Originally posted by New Mexican Disaster View PostLooks like Kobe is done for the season.

I hope he sticks around 3 years past his expiration date so I can enjoy watching every NBA player hate and dunk on him. Michael knew how to be a superstar despite his inability to tell when it was time to get off the court.
