I'm mildly excited about attending my first NBA playoff game tonight. Yeah, it's game 6 in the first round between two teams I really don't care about, but it's still playoff basketball. Also, my brother happens to be in Denver on business as well so we are going to the game together.

Some of these lineups are comical. The worst thing for the Lakers was beating the Thunder with that horrific second half lineup of Jordan Hill, Ebanks, Kobe, Blake and Sessions. Since that win we have seen it way too much. I like Ebanks, but the dude can't shoot. In fact perimeter shooting is the biggest issue with this team. We have no 3 point shooting. Well we do but Kapono and Murphy can't get off the bench because they suck at every other facet of the game. But right now I'd rather see one of those guys guarding Danilo than Ebanks or Kobe. I remember reading about the old ABA days, with players doing coke at halftime, players eating hot dogs on the bench, etc. in other words, lawlessness. that is kind of what I imagine is happening in the LAL locker room under Mike Brown's watch. Players don't respect him or even pay attention to him, he has no command over Bynum, and his only adjustments seem to involve whether he plays Sessions and Blake together or not.
Where the heck is Jax? All it took was one comment....one sentence....heck, with mental midgets like Rick Adelman or VladRad, all it took was one WORD to the media and Jax was in your head. he had you on a set of strings and you were pretty much going to do what he wanted or you were going to make it easy for him to dump you unceremoniously (im talking to you, JR Rider). Mike Brown completely lacks the ability to dominate the mental game, which is why he cannot get Bynum to get serious on a consistent basis. These guys don't want to impress Brown. Bynum has 2 rings. What does he care about Mike Brown? Brown better start lighting up sage in the locker room or handing out books or something. For crying out loud, burn a yucca plant or bang a drum. Do something.
On a side note, I wonder if it absolutely kills Shack to have to say all these complimentary things about Kobe.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.
