Perhaps only Wuap would understand but it's one of those things that's tough to explain but, in the right jurisdiction, a few beers in me, and the wrong things said about my homeland, there'd likely be some explaining to do to the local sheriff as to why the bar saw another round of "greatest hits" (I hit you, you hit the ground). Of course, in the right jurisdiction (most places in Texas, when the issue is messing with Texas), the good officer might hit you, too.

The moment captured Gasol's ineffective playoff push in so many ways. He continuously talked about his need to be aggressive, remain calm and to elevate his play. But rarely did he ever back up those intentions on the court, delivering with the same tepidness as he yelled for his teammates to pick up the intensity and the same passivity that defined his on-court play. Unfortunately for the Lakers, Gasol's 13.1 points on 42.9% shooting he averaged against the Mavericks proved the main factor in the Western Conference semifinals sweep.

That's because Gasol's poor play created other problems that plagued the Lakers. His lack of aggressiveness and the emergence of Tyson Chandler and Brendan Haywood neutralized the Lakers' post presence. His frustration and inattentiveness on defense made it even easier for Dirk Nowitzki to hit ridiculously hard-to-make fadeaways and contributed to the Lakers' slow reactions on rotations. And his unreliability put further strain on Kobe Bryant to produce on offense, Bynum to carry the defense and many wondering what they should do about Gasol.

Odom's mistake was not flooring Dirk completely in Game 1 or 2.

Watching some of those replays this morning, the Mavs are a bunch of girls. Nobody comes to Barea's defense at all. Brendan Haywood just stands there and kind of turns around like it was a routine foul and he was going to his spot outside the key. Kidd makes some sort of half assed attempt but his ire is directed at the officials and not Drew. I don't get it. Not a single player got in Bynum's grill. That's pathetic.

Our players are smart: they were clearly moving on to the next round and there was no point in jeopardizing the future.

Artest and Bynum are pussies going after the littlest guy on the floor. Odom at least went after someone his own size.

Of course, a proud Laker hater like myself will always think of the Lakers as assholes, so it doesn't take much for me to consider their actions as less than proper.

This thread is getting awesome. Laker fans wanting to blow up a team that has won two NBA titles in the last 25 months, and a guy in Brazil playing Internet tough guy over his (newfound?) love of Texas and it's teams. Now I know why this is one of the greatest threads in CUF history.
