Glad to see Attest play some D. I enjoy watching him when he is focused on his game.
I wished Ariza had remained a Laker but I truly doubt that he would have been as effective on Durant than Artest. Artest could make a case for MVP of that series despite shooting as well as Durant did.
So the Lakers had a playoff game today. And they won.
I DVR'd it as I was away all afternoon. The Lakers looked decent. Rough 4th quarter. The Jazz' problem is that they don't believe they can beat the Lakers. The Lakers' length gives them fits.

Seems like playoff games against the Jazz always go this way. The Lakers build a nice lead early by getting what they want inside, the Jazz play well enough to keep it within 10 or so, the Jazz bench outplays the Lakers bench to make it uncomfortably close, and the Lakers close it out. I hate playing the Jazz while living in Utah. Doesn't matter if you're decent to people ... when it comes to the Lakers, Jazz fans are dicks.
How could the Lakers not seriously entertain offers for Bynum at this point? Now a torn meniscus on top of the achilles strain. The guy is damaged goods.

On one of the Lakers blogs (Blue and Gold Forum maybe?) they said that Bynum has had that small tear in his meniscus all season and has been playing through it. When he hyperextended his kneee the other night against OKC they were just looking to see if he had hurt his knee further, but the damage wasn't any worse so he was good to go.
His health makes me worry. He's a legit 5 in a league without many. If healthy he can have a tremendous career. I'd trade him to New Jersey for Harris and Lopez. Shoot, I'd consider taking Marc Gasol back for him straight up. Bringing Bosh in would be interesting but I wonder if he is too similar to Pau for them to mesh together.
Really the Lakers need a PG. Doesn't Parker want to come to LA to be with Eva?
I want to give the nuggets some slack because their coach was facing death with his cancer surgery. As a BYU fan, I understand that such a thing can take a toll on the team.
But the nuggets seem to melt down mentally every season, not just this one. They are the worst team of the consistent playoff teams in this aspect. Sooner or later, one of them is going to go bananas. Is it birdman, is it Melo? Smith? Kenyon? why did Kenyon push Williams? same reason, probably.
Same old Nuggets. That team has issues and their problem is not the coach. It starts with Crymelo and culminates with JR Smith.
Utah doubling Kobe half-assed on the post and paying dearly for it. They look completely lost on rotations. Only red hot shooting from 3 is keeping this from being an early laugher.

Yeah if everyone but Korver wasn't hitting their threes the Lakers would be up by 20. The 3 ball and Milsap are keeping them in this game.
