I thought it was a good move in Game 1, given the size of the lead, but it didn't make sense last night given the tight situation and the fact that most of the 'pen hadn't seen any action for a while.

Still, with the largest hat size, figuratively and literally, among ML managers, Bochy gets a pass here.

Unfortunately the good people at the Peppermill Sportsbook in Reno didn't agree that a split was alright and decided to keep my money for thinking the Giants would win last nights game.

His Hall of Fame credentials aren't there for nothing. I can't argue with his success. However, I hope he keeps throwing Strickland out there.

The Giants don't need this World Series; they already have two too many in recent years. Nonetheless, I am jealous of your beautiful stadium. Bumgarner is a helluva a pitcher, and I am not too sad that Shields is leaving KC after the season given his less than stellar performances in post season.

OTOH, you gotta love Guthrie and perhaps he'll pull it out for KC. Messrs Herrera, Davis and Holland usually put a smile on my face. I liked the comment by a Giant player about Herrera, "he's throwing it 101 miles an hour as the set up guy. Usually that's your closer."

It was as I suspected. BYU laying an egg lead to KC winning game 3. In fact, it was a big enough egg that I'm feeling good about game 4.

Of course I was relaying my sports gods superstitions to my game buddy, and he said that his sports gods must really want him to feel some pain. He's a Redskins, Yankees, Cougars fan.
