For those who may not have heard, Brian Banks was accused of raping a girl when he was 17-years old. He was facing 41-years in prison so he entered a plea bargain. He spent 5 years in jail and 5 years on probation. The girl who accused him of rape, got a settlement of 1.5 million from the Long Beach School District for not providing a safe environment. The girl eventually contacted Banks on Facebook. Banks was able to videotape her recanting her claims that he raped her. With this evidence, Banks conviction was overturned.

Banks has been absolutely screwed and it would be a great story if he could make an NFL roster.

School district is suing her for 2 million. Even if they win, they aren't getting all the money back. I'm assuming any statute of limitations has run on any crimes she committed with the false report and/or any potential perjury.

There is so much wrong with what she did. She destroyed 5 years of the guys life. Deprived him of his freedom, deprived him of his college scholarhsip, deprived him of his college experience, and deprived him of his potential to earn millions of dollars. Plus, she has hurt victims of rape who will have to deal with claims that they are lying like she did. I have only slightly more respect for this woman than someone who is a rapist.

Same here. I'm sure that all the money has been sitting in a good investment account and she has been living off the interest/proceeds. I'm sure the school will easily get its money back.

Reading an old article on this, the PI that got the recording from her said that he thinks her intent was to try to get back together with Brian. This woman is insane.

Completely agreed. What she did is a true disservice to people who have really been sexually assaulted.
