  • I think you are forgetting about Amare (easy to do, unless you are in the Knicks payroll department). At least, Lee tries. Stoudemire's only thought process on defense, seems to be how quickly he can get to the other end of the floor to shoot a terrible 8 foot turn-around.

Remember when Amare was a young stud on a Suns team that (with Marbury) almost upset the Spurs in the playoffs? That seems like 20 years ago.

      • On a semi-related note--and I realize +/- is a stat with significant flaws, particularly when applied to a single game--I found Richard Jefferson's Game 1 +/- stat of -14 in 3 total minutes on the court to be pretty amusing. That has to be some sort of a record.

Still I was impressed he was and is able to play at a pretty damn high level following what some considered a career-ending injury.

He turned a fast break dunk that would have sealed the game in to two missed free throws that kept the Spurs in it. Amazing the Spurs were able to get rid of his awful contract.

If Bogut is healthy, he may be able to help compensate for his awful defense. I'm really surprised how Bogut has became a good defensive big.

                  • Conley has been awesome in this game. And I know Durant is supposed to be the lovable face of the NBA, but I think he is an insufferable whiner. Dude bitches at the refs on every possession.

                    • The Harden trade is looking worse and worse. Martin goes 2 for 11 with 6 points. They may as well have kept Harden for a year and let him walk for nothing in return. Unless one of the mediocre draft picks turns into a gem that trade will go down as a huge mistake. Legit "win now" championship opportunities should not be traded for a future that may never come.

Yep, I agree. They should have made another run this season. You don't make that trade when you just went to the NBA Finals.

I disagree. Harden is a great talent, but his worth is diminished when he has to share his talents with Durrant and Westbrook. We are only talking about this because Westbrook is out. They were never going to be able to keep Harden, so they had to get something for him when he still had market value.

agreed. KMart has stepped up big and taken some of the pressure off of Durant.

Yes, but Westbrook is out. And they didn't really get anything of value in return as evidenced by their record since the Westbrook injury. The risk of losing Westbrook or Durant was always present.

When you go to the finals with a team that has 3 all-stars who are young and improving and you have the opportunity to make a second run at it, you have to make that run. Presti got greedy. He thought the incremental short-term value of Harden was less than the long term value of what he got in return. Westbrook went down and his gamble failed. Bad move.

I'd have payed him and kept him, if I was the owner. But, it's easy to say things like that when you're talking about spending other people's money.
