I agree, last year I followed every move, knew ever score and watched ever game I could get w/o living in Chicago or having MLB Extra Innings. I haven't been nearly as diligent this year. Glad Rami's back and hope Lily's on track.

That was me last year too. I think we all had higher hopes last year, especially after our July championship. This year with the injuries and the inconsistency I'll be happy if we make the playoffs. As it is that likely means we'll have to win the division and would be nice.. Unlike last year I don't expect much from this team so a division championship would be a pleasant surprise.

Looks like Samardzija didn't get sent down, but maybe he should have. What a horrible night at Wrigley.

With spring training upon us and the arrival of a new Cubs fan to the board, I thought it would be good to create a group for all of the CUF Cubs fans. You can check it out here: http://www.cougaruteforum.com/group.php?groupid=6

Join up and show your pride.

I thought it was funny that when I went to join, it asked me "are you sure you want to join a group called 'The Northsiders'?"

Theroit took the Cubs to arbitration and "lost." He lost b/c he was seeking $3.4M this year (he was only sheduled to make $500k!), but instead they awarded him a lesser amount: $2.6M. First arbitration for the Cubs since 1993.

              :moon: (courtesy of my son).

thinking about his $500k salary, I thougth I remember hearing that the league minimum was something like $800k. And that was years ago. Was I wrong, or did they reduce it?

haha, that should be a mandatory screening question for anyone who decides to declare their allegiance to the catastrophe that is Cubs baseball.

I loved those commercials. Summers when I was young were spent playing outside until it got hot then coming inside to watch Ryno, Hawk and Gracie. Fortunately I did not get swept up enough to become a die hard fan. What a sad way to go through life.

Big Z gives up 6, yes SIX, in the first inning. Why we keep trotting him out to open the season is beyond me.

If you don't have anything positive to say... well... never mind.

Still, Zambrano is an opening day curse.

Zambrano lasts 1 and a third. Unbelievable.
