Yes, the fact that Garnett doesn't have to defend anybody makes the game much easier.
    I'm like LeBron James.

Not sure if that was TIC or not, but even when Anthony is in the game KG plays harder on the defensive side of the court than almost every other player. And there have been a lot of possessions when he's been matched up against LeBron during the two games in Boston.

KG isn't getting the KD treatment right now, where Durant gets to coast on defense almost the entire game and then will guard Parker or Ginobli for a few possessions in the 4th quarter. KG's on/off court numbers in the playoffs are as impressive as anyone else.

      • Interesting read on Wade's failure to execute the final play as drawn up.

Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

I'd be interested to see a breakdown of the last play of the 4th quarter as well. I couldn't figure out what they were trying to do. It was awful.

I have thought Spoelstra has looked miserable drawing up plays in late game situations. The Wade play from last night goes to show you can't always pin it on the coach since it appears what Spo drew up was there and would've gotten a good shot; whether Chalmers for three was the right good shot to go for is another matter.

But the defensive assignments from the coaching staff down the stretch were horrible. I understand wanting to put LeBron on Rondo, but not when they like to use KG so much in SnR plays on the ball. At least three times it ended up with Haslem on Rondo, the rest of the defense sagging off to compensate, poor spacing, and worse rebounding.

I think the play called for LBJ to make a terrible pass at the last second, resulting is a desperation shot at the buzzer.

              • I told my wife before that play that someone was going to hold onto the ball too long and then they would end up taking a bad shot. I'd say a majority of the time, teams screw up that scenario and they end up taking a horrible shot. Never ceases to amaze me.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

                          • Harden must have watched some BYU v. SDSU games, that step back three was a beauty.

                              • That's the shot the best executed offense in the league gets? Manu clearly didn't have the shot comming off the staggered screen. What was the counter?
