Who is the comparable for Jones' downside? I understand that he didn't dominate in college in his 2 years, so he's unlikely to be a dominant, alpha-dog star in the NBA. But he doesn't have any of the attitude problems of certain past products. It's just his "motor", allegedly.
Earl Clark? Clark definitely had great size and good skill. Not quite on the level of Jones or Odom.

    • Charlotte supposedly has 5 offers for the #2 pick. Of course that's probably according to Charlotte.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

      • Cavs offering Anderson Varejao for a lottery pick. Would make draft night incredibly interesting for Cleveland, if they could get say the 11th pick from Portland for Varejao. Would give them the 4, 11, and 24.

Cleveland would be lucky to get a 3rd round pick for Varejao...
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

To follow up on @WojYahooNBA 's report that the Spurs are shopping DeJuan Blair, one team that really likes him I'm told is Golden State.
If the Ws are interested in Blair, they've got to be more interested in Millsap.

            • This is only tangentially related to the draft, but I hadn't before noticed that HoopsHype started listing the salaries of agents. What?!?!?!?1?!? $215 million?

              • Cleveland trying to get to 2 to grab Beal. Why wouldn't Charlotte deal? At 4, they still will get one of MK-G, Robinson, Beal, or Barnes. And with only Biyombo and Walker with any value on that roster, they've got to get other assets.

Cleveland has the 24th pick, Miami's picks in 2013 and 2015, and a future Sacramento pick with heavy protection for another 2 years. But if I was a Charlotte fan I think I'd take the 4, 24, and that Kings pick in exchange for the 2.

                • Locke says he has heard Houston not only making play for Dwight Howard, but also for Bynum or Rondo.

Not sure how they get Bynum, just like I don't think they have enough to get Howard. Would LA take Scola, Lowry, Kevin Martin's expiring contract, and a few first round picks for Bynum? If they brought Sessions back their PG spot would be really good, Scola pairs with Gasol well, and late lottery pick could bring them someone like Myers Leonard or Zeller.

The 24th pick in a draft is not typically enough to move you up from 4 to 2 in a draft. The Jazz had to give up 3 first rounders and the 6 pick to move up to #3 and pick Deron, IIRC. But that teaches us another lesson: don't pass up on the guy everyone knows is better at 3 to pick the guy that you want at 6. I'd think they can get more for the pick than that.

                      • Ford is saying Charlotte will pick Beal and trade him to Cleveland.

Broussard just confirmed. 2, 24, and 2nd rounder.

And right after Broussard talks they go w/MK-G.
